Big Brother season 26 episode 37 aired on Thursday, October 10, 2024, and saw Rubina Bernabe get evicted from the house. She was the 13th member houseguest to be evicted, solidifying her place as the sixth member of the jury.
The other contestants with her prior to the eviction were Cam Sullivan-Brown, Chelsie Baham, and Makensy Manbeck. With Chelsie winning her fourth Head of Household (HOH) competition of the season, she secured her spot in the final three and nominated Cam and Makensy for eviction.
The Power of Veto (POV) competition determined who would join Chelsie in the final three. In an intense competition, Makensy Manbeck emerged victorious, securing her place in the finale by using the POV to save herself.
This left Chelsie having to nominate Rubina as a replacement. Makensy had the sole vote and, in a crucial decision, chose to evict Rubina, thus ending her time in the house and sending her to the jury.
Big Brother 26: Rubina's journey
Rubina's game was defined by her ability to persevere in the face of many challenges. She found herself linked with Kimo and T'kor after her early showmance with Tucker made her a target.
In the initial weeks, their alliance shielded her, but after Kimo's elimination, Rubina's performance was tested. She was put on the cut for nearly half of the season despite receiving six nominations.
In her exit interview with Julie Chen-Moonves, the contestant reflected on her eviction. While disappointed, she wasn't entirely surprised by Makensy's decision.
"I can’t say that I’m surprised. [Makensy] told me moments ago that they had a final three. It was giving that energy towards the last five," she said.
Rubina also made a pitch to Makensy before the eviction, suggesting that if she stayed and won the final HOH, she would take Makensy to the final two. She said that she wasn't "afraid of sitting next to another strong, amazing woman." The Big Brother season 26 contestant added that she was "all about women empowerment" and would hold true to it.
She explained why she would have taken Makensy over Chelsie, adding that she felt "closer to her [Makensy] than" she did to Chelsie. She also said that the two have gone a long time in the game together.
When asked about her brief showmance with Tucker Des Lauriers earlier in the season, Rubina noted that his eviction allowed her to refocus on the game.
"After that it did become easier for me to focus all my energy on the game than on trying to resist a relationship," Rubina said.
