Big Brother 26 is coming to its conclusion, with only four houseguests remaining in the house. Although some players have established themselves as strong contestants, mid-game competitions for becoming HoH (Head of Household) and holding the Power of Veto could quickly pour cold water over ongoing plotting.
The remaining houseguests are Chelsie Baham, Cam Sullivan-Brown, Makensy Manbeck, and Rubina Bernabe, following Kimo Apaka's eviction in episode 35 of Big Brother 26 on October 3, 2024. Although the competition for winning Power of Veto for week 12 will be shown in the October 6 episode, live feeds have revealed Makensy as the winner.
The tally of eliminated houseguests keeps increasing as Matt Hardeman, Lisa Weintraub, Kenney Kelley, Cedric Hodges, Brooklyn Rivera, Tucker Des Lauriers, Joseph Rodriguez, Quinn Martin, T’kor Clottey, and Kimo Apaka are all eliminated and no longer in the running to win $750,000.
Power of Veto win could secure Makensy's spot in final 3 of Big Brother 26
With the Power of Veto comes the responsibility of securing one houseguest's spot from elimination in the Big Brother house. With Chelsie becoming the HoH, her place was secured in the top 3. She also nominated Cam and Makensy for the chopping block, but with Power of Veto, Makensy would most likely take her own name off the elimination round.
Earlier, after the HoH competition, Cam expressed grief at losing yet another competition this season when he confided in Chelsie. She reassured Cam that he was her number one choice and should push to win the Power of Veto so that they both could reach the final. Cam also stated that he would like to vote out Makensy, as she has won almost all the competitions she has taken part in.
Makensy took Chelsie aside and asked her if she won the Veto, who would she save. Chelsie responded by taking Makensy's name and assured her that nominations don't matter during the final 4, as she could win the Power of Veto and save herself. Rubina also expressed her desire for an all-female final three in season 26 of Big Brother.
If Makensy uses her Power of Veto to save herself, then Chelsie would have to nominate either Cam or Rubina as a replacement nominee. Makensy has nine competition wins now, which include two HOH, five Power of Veto, and two BB A.I. Arena wins. She has won these competitions back and forth with Chelsie, who has five overall wins, including four HOH and one BB A.I. Arena win.
Kimo claims Chelsie and Makensy are "biggest threats" after his exit
Kimo Apaka is one of the rare contestants in the Big Brother house who has been nominated consistently since Week 7. Cam even vouched for him in front of Chelsie but was later convinced by the latter to stick to the original plan of eliminating him. Kimo was voted out 2-0 against Rubina, including the double eviction, and nearly survived again this week.
In an interview with Gold Derby on October 4, 2024, Kimo expressed that he would have put either Chelsie or Makensy on the block as he wanted to reach the finals along with Cam.
“Chelsie and Makensy are the biggest threats in the game and amazing competitors. There was always going to be the concern of the Veto situation, because that is crucial. Whoever wins Veto ultimately has more of the power going forward,” Kimo stated.
Kimo explained that he tried talking to both Cam and Chelsie as he had a good relationship with both but ultimately failed to convince either, resulting in his elimination.
Big Brother 26 episode 36 will air on October 6, 2024, at 9:00 pm ET on CBS.
