The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City premiered season 5 on September 18. The newest season introduced a new housewife, Bronwyn Newport, to the original group of ladies, which became a highlight of the season.
This season also saw the development of a feud between Whitney Rose and Lisa Barlow. It began when Whitney learned that the person who spread rumors about her jewelry brand being sourced from Ali Express was none other than Lisa herself.
Fans saw Whitney confronting Lisa about this, but she denied the claims and even called Whitney a liar. In an interview with People on November 8, Whitney discussed her relationship with Lisa, stating that the latter couldn't prove why she called her a liar.
"I've never seen her take accountability for anything because she just has to be right. She's calling me a liar, but can't prove what I'm lying about," Whitney said.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Whitney Rose opens up about her relationship with Lisa Barlow
According to what fans saw on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 5 episode 5, Whitney discovered through a friend that the person behind the rumors about her jewelry brand was Lisa Barlow. Lisa allegedly used social media to spread lies about her company, Prism Lifestyle, and Whitney wasn't having it.
In a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, the conflict between them escalated to the point where their husbands also got involved and were very close to hitting each other. Whitney addressed the situation by saying:
"It's sad, to me, to see her, how vicious she has been and her nonstop need to slander me and talk ill about me and my husband. I think it says more about her than it does about me. But it makes me feel sad for her."
She added that she didn't understand why Lisa would want to do such a thing, as it didn't affect her in any way. She said she was used to such behavior from Lisa, but she had taken it to a "new level" by spreading lies about her business on social media.
Talking about their long-reigning sour relationship, Whitney stated that she had tried to bridge the gaps multiple times, but it never worked. She attributed this failure to Lisa's refusal to take accountability for her actions. Whitney added that she wouldn't try to repair their relationship anymore because she had learned to prioritize herself.
Whitney also pointed out that in every season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Lisa would have a fallout with one or the other member of the cast. The cast members who get back with her are "exhausted back" into a relationship with her because they give in to her whims in the end. She said that was self-sabotaging, something she wouldn't associate herself with anymore. For Lisa, Whitney said:
"I hope that she takes a hard look at all her friendships like I did, [and sees] that everyone is telling her the same thing. It happens multiple times this season. So at that point in time, you've got to quote Taylor Swift: ‘Hi, it's me. I'm the problem.’ But not everyone cares to work on themselves like that."
Discussing her own growth, Whitney said that she used to hate confronting people or making them upset on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. In the past, she would often back away from such situations, but over time, she found the courage to address issues confidently because she started prioritizing herself over other people's feelings.
New episodes of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 5 come out on Wednesdays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
