Episode 3 of Claim to Fame season 3 was released on Wednesday, July 24. After a double elimination in episode 2, which followed a single elimination in episode 1, the contestants were reduced to 8. Episode 3 was much awaited as the game got more intense, with the player pool getting smaller.
The three eliminations in the previous two episodes were people who guessed incorrectly, and the episode 3 eviction also went down the same way. Miguel wrongly guessed Dedrick's celebrity connection, and had to go home.
The previous episodes saw Bianca, Jill, and Gracie leave the show after they were sent to the bottom two by their fellow stars. Miguel also went to the bottom two after the majority of them voted for him. After his elimiantion, Miguel was revealed to be Jamie Lee Curtis' nephew.
Miguel was eliminated in Claim to Fame episode 3
When Miguel was picked to be on the hot seat in episode 3 of Claim to Fame, he picked Dedrick, his biggest ally, as the person he wanted to make a guess upon. It was surprising to everyone because Dedrick had been Miguel's biggest ally since day 1 of the show.
So if Miguel was able to guess Dedrick's identity correctly, Dedrick would've gone home.
When it was time for Miguel to guess who was Dedrick's celebrity relative, he said, Little Richard. It was the wrong answer and Miguel had to go home.
It was revealed that Miguel was Raphael Curtis and he was the nephew of Jamie Lee Curtis. Raphael also happens to be the son of Jamie Lee Curtis' half-sister, Allegra Curtis, who has done roles in coveted movies such as Freaky Friday.
Miguel's incorrect guess cut his journey to $100,000 short and he had to go home. In an interview with People, which was published on July 24, Miguel said that he spoke to Dedrick after the big elimination and said that there was no bad blood between them.
What did Miguel say about his time on Claim to Fame season 3?
In his interview with People, the Claim to Fame star said that even if he didn't make the win, he still felt good about successfully fooling his fellow contestants. He earned the deserving title of a "wolf in sheep's clothing", and admitted that it gave him an ego boost.
Speaking about his ally and his pick to guess, Dedrick, he said:
"We both teamed up knowing this is a competition, this is a TV show, so the connection that we do have isn't going to get affected by the decisions we make because ultimately we have to make these decisions because it's part of the show".
He also opened up about his mom's health and said that she was in the hospital when their house was under renovation. So he had to move all the stuff out of the house without any help and also had to look after his mom.
He said it was stressful because he was only 20 at that time but as the only man in the family, he felt responsible to fight through. He added,
"I did what I said I was going to do. I bought my mom that car. I've been taking care of stuff at home".
He said he wanted to reciprocate what his mom had done for him all those years. He also said she was "super supportive" of him. Lastly he spoke about what to expect from the upcoming episodes.
He asked viewers to expect the unexpected and told them they would never know who was fooling them.
New episodes of Claim to Fame season 3 come out on Wednesdays, at 9 pm ET, on ABC.
