Selling The City episode 2 premiered on January 3 on Netflix. The real estate reality show showcases the personal and professional lives of the Douglas Elliman agents as they try their best to sell the biggest listings in New York City.
In episode 2, Steve Gold took Justin Tuinstra to show one of his listings. As they explored the Steve Gold penthouse, Steve took every opportunity to poke fun at Justin's athleticism and real estate skills.
While in the game room testing the archery simulator, the two Selling the City castmates challenged each other. Justin missed the target completely, while Steve successfully hit it.
Reflecting on Justin's lackluster sporting skills in his confessional, Steve referred to him as a "cute puppy" and confidently claimed he was better than his fellow castmate at everything.
"Justin, to me, is like… a cute puppy, you know. Like, I can't hate on the guy 'cause I actually kind of like him, but I think when it comes to sports, athletics… …and obviously real estate, there's a very clear winner. Thats me," Steve said in his confessional.
Selling The City star Steve gives Justin a tour of his Sutton Tower listing
In Selling The City episode 2, Steve Gold invited Justin Tuinstra to the Sutton Tower to show him one of his listings.
During their meeting, Justin shared in her confessional that he started real estate in 2008. He further mentioned that Steve joined at a similar time, and they were those "couple of model guys that left the industry and went on to pursue other careers."
Steve took a jab at Justin during his confessional, pointing out that while he modeled for high-end luxury brands like Armani and Ralph Lauren, Justin was more of a "commercial" model, working for brands like JCPenney.
Sutton Tower had 81 floors, and its listed penthouse offered amenities such as an indoor pool, a three-floor fitness center/gym, a formal dining room, a kids' playroom, and a game room.
The East 58th St. Sutton Palace penthouse had 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms and was over 9,356 sqft. The price for the property was set at $65 million with a commission of $1.9 million.
"Brand-new construction, glass and stone facade, with direct elevator access... We're in one of our penthouses here. You know, soaring ceilings. We're over 800 feet in the air here," Steve noted.
As they entered the game room, Justin took a shot at the basketball section but missed, joking that it was due to his "fitted suit."
"In fairness to him, it is hard to shoot a basketball when your clothes are children's size," Steve quiped.
Steve and Justin talk about the ongoing "drama" between Jade Chan and Eleanora Srugo
Steve recalled that luncheon he had with Jade Chan and Eleanora Srugo in episode 1 and noticed some friction between the two Selling The City cast mates.
Justin said that there was "some head-butting going on" between the two. He felt that something wasn't jiving with Eleonora and she looked upset with Jade.
"I think they're good friends, but, you know, this business can make people enemies. Maybe Eleonora felt slighted. We were at Jade's luncheon, you two did a deal together. Maybe she felt like she wasn't totally included in what was going on. It wasn't her show. I don't know," he added.
Despite Jade and Eleanora clashing due to the competitive nature of the real estate business, Steve felt they were intentionally causing drama.
Selling The City episodes 1 to 8 are now available on Netflix.
