Love After Lockup season 5, which premiered in September 2023, has reached episode 37, which was released on September 6, 2024. The episode saw Latisha visiting Arthur, an attorney, to discuss the legal proceedings of Keith's release.
In their meeting on Love After Lockup, Arthur told her that whatever she was told about Keith's early release was untrue, because Ben, the paralegal she was taking advice from, may have been an inmate posing as a paralegal.
Arthur elaborated and said that because inmates file their papers themselves, they tend to know the workings of these things and once released from prison, many of them allegedly pose as paralegals to earn money from doing paperwork for prisoners.

After Latisha admitted to recently finding out about the inmate status of her previous legal counsel, fans of Love After Lockup took to X to react:

Most Love After Lockup fans criticized Latisha for not reading into Ben earlier, while some others said they could tell Ben wasn't genuine from the start.

What went down in Latisha's meeting with the attorney in episode 37 of Love After Lockup season 5?
Latisha came to Arthur, the attorney, with Keith's paperwork and told him that they had anticipated an early release for Keith based on what their paralegal told them.
She said they thought there were "law changes" that enabled Keith to shorten his sentence by eight months and come home.
After going through the paperwork, Arthur explained to her that there were no changes in the law, but there were changes in the policy, which would only come into effect for cases "down the line."
He guessed that the paralegal she hired was probably an inmate and she agreed. He said many such inmates would reportedly learn how to write the paperwork from their own experience of writing it for their legal proceedings.
Once out of prison, they would allegedly pose as paralegals to profit off of other people's "hard times." He added that he probably was the reason their public defender left the case.
