"Damn! Messy Boots!": Love is Blind UK fans react to Sam sitting in between Freddie and Catherine

The Love is Blind UK reunion was released on Netflix on Monday, August 26, 2024, and saw cast members meeting up after a year to reflect on their experience on the show. Filmed one year after the finale episode of the show, the reunion featured the couples as well as the singles as they spoke to the hosts, Matt and Emma Willis.

Sam was one of the cast members who attended the reunion episode. He walked onto the stage after the hosts invited him and went and sat between Freddie and Catherine, sparking interest among the viewers. Love is Blind UK fans were taken aback at his choice of seat as Catherine had flirted with Sam while she was in a relationship with Freddie, which the latter was uncomfortable with.

Fans took to X to comment on the same, with many calling it hilarious as others pointed out that only Catherine clapped when his entry was announced. Some called the situation "messy boots," as they wondered by production had him sitting between Freddie and Catherine.

"Why did production seat Sam between Freddie and Catherine? They couldn’t just put him on the end of the sofa or in the audience or something? Like, damn! Messy boots!" a fan said.

Love is Blind UK fans also pointed out that while production sat Sam between Freddie and Catherine, the hosts didn't "even ask them why they [Sam and Catherine] were flirting."

"They did NOT have Sam sit in between Freddie and Cat," said another.

"Only Catherine was clapping for Sam coming out and producers really put Sam between Catherine and Freddie," a comment read.

"Nah but they strategically sat Sam in between Freddie and Catherine but didn’t even ask them why they were flirting? What was the f*cking reason? To get us to watch this snooze fest of a reunion?! That was ridiculous. I think Catherine knows one of the producers!" read another comment.

Many Love is Blind UK fans noticed Freddie's reaction when Sam sat next to him and commented on the same. While some said that Freddie was "ready to punch" Sam, others mentioned the way Freddie's body language changed after Sam joined him on the sofa.

"Freddie's face when Sam came on! He was ready to punch him!!!!" an X user wrote.

"Freddie not even looking at Sam is killing me hdjdjdjd," another user wrote.

"Freddie does not like Sam, his face when he came out and sat next to him I scream," a third user wrote.

"Freddie’s body language was hella strong when Sam walked out and sat between him and Cat," another fan said.

What happened between Sam and Catherine on Love is Blind UK?

From the beginning of Love is Blind UK, Catherine seemed to have a deeper connection with Ollie and Freddie and never pursued things with anyone else. She had never even spoken to Sam while they were in the pods due to her connection with the other two men.

Episode eight of Love is Blind UK saw a mixer for the couple to meet other contestants from the pods, which Sam also attended. At the time, Catherine was "in a mood" with Freddie for complimenting Sharlotte, who was his other match.

Therefore, Sam's entry seemed to come in as a welcome distraction. Catherine chatted with him for a while, laughing, giggling, and even hitting him as a joke. She also offered to meet him outside of the show, which Sam agreed to.

Watching Catherine flirt with Sam, Freddie looked sad, and during a confessional, he said that it bothered him. When his friend saw Freddie look bothered, they advised him to see if Catherine felt purely for him and speculated that "it could get worse than this."
