Chef Jono's mistake in Below Deck Mediterranean
During a dinner service in Below Deck Mediterranean, Chef Jono served a guest tuna carpaccio, which is raw tuna, even though she had told him she couldn't eat raw fish because of a severe allergy. When the guest said that eating raw fish could kill her, the other guests were shocked and upset.
Captain Sandy was furious when she found out about the mistake. She takes immense pride in maintaining the highest standards of safety and service. She wasted no time in addressing the issue, heading straight to the galley to confront Jono, she said,
"One of the guests … raw seafood will kill her. And it’s in front of her. That’s a big screwup. It was on her preference sheet."
Sandy reminded Jono very firmly, and all he could do was admit he was wrong and say sorry. Sandy was clearly angry as she talked about her disappointment in a confessional, saying that in all her 35 years at sea, she had never seen a chef do something so careless. Because of how bad things were, she took strong action and called Yacht Crew Replacement to find a new chef right away.
