In episode 35 of Love After Lockup season 5, which aired on August 23, Latisha dealt with the aftermath of Keith's delayed prison release. When she told her daughter that Keith wouldn't be coming home as expected, her daughter cried, calling him "daddy." This moment was upsetting for fans of the show.
Love After Lockup fans called Latisha out for asking her child to call a felon "daddy," even though he is not her real father. Some of them point out the fact that women can be desperate for fathers when their children don't have one.
"I’m so sick of these women desperate for fathers for their kids have these kids calling a man they don’t know 'daddy'," a fan said.

Many Love After Lockup fans also reflected on the moment when Latisha's daughter cried because her "daddy" was being taken back into custody.
"These women be doing the most she prolly keeping that lil girl away from her real daddy but has her wrapped on with this convict that she pushing on that babygirl now she heartbroken about a damn convict," a fan wrote.
"Latisha’s daughter crying about a man in prison that’s not even her REAL Daddy is insane to me," wrote another fan.

In the previous episode, i.e. episode 34 of Love After Lockup, Latisha found herself scrambling to get information on when Keith was being released from prison. In episode 35, she sat down with her friend Nikki and told her that she found out Keith wasn't coming out when she thought he would.
She also told her about how her daughter cried when she found out that Keith, her "daddy," who was supposed to be home soon wasn't coming anytime soon. The scene flashed back to her daughter crying because she wanted Keith to come home "tomorrow".
Latisha shared that she was stressing about their families who all were anticipating his arrival and now were just sad to know he wasn't coming. She also shared that she was going through financial instability at the moment because a lot of her money was going after Keith's legal processes.
Later in the episode, the paralegal that Latisha hired found that Keith's sentence was illegal.
