The Voice season 26 brought talented vocalists together under the mentorship of Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, and Michael Bublé. Each coach built their unique teams for intense three-way sing-offs in the Knockout rounds.

Season 26 aired a new episode on November 11, 2024, on NBC. The episode of the Knockouts premiere saw an unexpected development, as host Carson Daly announced that Tanner Frick had left the show after rehearsals.

Even though Tanner did not give an official reason, he uploaded a post on TikTok shortly before the episode aired. The post read:

“Ain't nobody want me anyway.”

His sudden departure and the cryptic post left fans curious and led to speculation about the circumstances of his exit just as the Knockouts began. One X user wrote:

"Wait, did just say Tanner Frick “left after rehearsal?” Why? Is he ok? #TheVoice"

Tanner, a country singer from Manchester, Tennessee, impressed the coaches with his Blind Auditions performance of Morgan Wallen’s Thought You Should Know. Originally part of Team Reba, Tanner continued in the competition as a member of Team Michael after a steal in the Battles round.

Tanner’s journey on The Voice and connection with the coaches

Tanner Frick participated in The Voice season 26 with a strong background in country music. His journey began with a Blind Audition, where he performed Morgan Wallen’s song Thought You Should Know. His performance led to a rare four-chair turn.

Tanner chose Reba as his coach, connecting over their shared interest in country music. In the Battles round, Reba paired Tanner with Tate Renner, another country singer, and they performed Need a Favor by Jelly Roll.

All the mentors praised their duet, and Reba acknowledged the strengths of each singer’s performance. However, she ultimately selected Tate, noting that his vocal tone aligned well with her vision for her team. Despite this, Tanner’s journey continued when Michael Bublé used a steal and added him to his team. Bublé said that Tanner complemented his team’s lineup.

Tanner’s background and decision to leave The Voice competition

Tanner’s decision to leave the competition left fans wondering about his reasons. One concerned fan wrote on X:

"I got some food and then I just NOW found out that Tanner left... that's kind of a surprise... oh my god... if it is personal reasons, then I respectfully wish him the best"

On The Voice stage, Tanner spoke about his career, and family background. He shared that he worked as a maintenance foreman in Manchester, Tennessee, managing sewer lines and electrical systems in high-risk environments.

His father, who raised him and instilled a strong work ethic, initially hoped Tanner would pursue a stable career. However, after Tanner married his wife, Madison, her encouragement helped him take steps toward his musical goals. Living on a two-acre property with Madison and their three dogs, Tanner described a life centered around family and community.

Before The Voice, he performed at small events but had limited opportunities to expand his musical reach. His participation in the show was a big step, offering him a platform to connect with a larger audience. Yet, Tanner Frick’s sudden departure suggested that he may still be navigating the balance between his personal responsibilities and his passion for music.

The Voice airs on NBC every Monday at 8 pm ET and Tuesday at 9 pm ET, with episodes available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
