Relationships formed on Love Island Australia often face unique challenges when transitioning to the real world, where the absence of cameras and the pressures of daily life can reveal compatibility issues. Such was the case for Taylor and Hannah, who entered the outside world as a couple but quickly discovered obstacles in sustaining their relationship.
In an exclusive interview with 9Entertainment, on December 12, 2024, after they departed from the show, Taylor shared,
"We started to get to know each other without the cameras and see each other's lives and lifestyles, and there was something that didn't sit with me morally."
The couple highlighted that the revelation played a huge role in their decision to part ways, despite their initial optimism about continuing their journey together after Love Island Australia.
Love Island Australia stars Taylor and Hannah's relationship journey
A promising start turns brief
Taylor and Hannah left Love Island Australia as a couple but had a hard time once they returned to their hometown, Melbourne. Although the two were initially positive, thinking that their journey was now starting, they soon found out that it was not that easy to translate their relationship into life outside the show.
"Hannah and I left the Villa with all intentions to give it a go on the outside world. We got back to Melbourne, and we continued to see each other quite briefly," Taylor said.
He said that a specific conversation came about because of new information that surfaced, and so they needed to assess their compatibility even further. Hannah also confirmed the split, saying,
"Taylor and I are not together. I'll just confirm that Tay and I are still really close friends, and that we're as close as we were in the Villa, just not romantically."
However, she refrained from providing further details on the factors contributing to their separation.
Current relationship status
Even after their romantic relationship concluded, Taylor and Hannah continue to maintain a close friendship. Taylor mentioned that he has had "a little fling" since their breakup, but he is currently "very much single." Hannah expressed that she is "happy just seeing what comes my way."
The two also spoke about their willingness to embrace whatever the future holds for them in their personal lives, encouraging a no-pressure mentality with new relationships.
"When I left the Villa I didn't put any pressure on myself to find anybody. I feel like whatever is meant to be will find you,"Hannah said.
Taylor’s reflection on the villa and friendships
Taylor's experience in the Love Island Australia Villa was marked by a complex "love square" involving Em, Krissy, and Hannah, which he described as stressful. Addressing this during the interview, Taylor remarked,
"That was basically my downfall, right? I think it was sort of portrayed that I was enjoying the attention and was playing along and flirting and entertaining these girls. But it actually wasn't the case in real time."
Since leaving the Love Island Australia Villa, Taylor has remained connected with the cast, noting his friendships with several contestants, including Em, with whom he has re-established a platonic bond.
"Em and I are back to being good friends again, like how we were in the start of the experience without any romance," he said.
