Love Island: Australia 'Movie Night' episode aired on Friday, November 29. The episode saw the Islanders watching clips that exposed hidden conversations and actions, one of which included Dylan's remarks about Sophie’s brief romantic connection with fellow Islander Zane.

Sophie was furious at Dylan's comment. Reflecting on the situation, Sophie said,

“I completely forgot that he’d just made this disgusting comment towards me.”

The comment, which came as a shock to Sophie, left her feeling humiliated and disappointed.

“Dylan was shaming me – it was really shocking and disappointing. I didn’t expect words like that to come out of his mouth," She said in an interview with TV Week on December 2.

As the fallout spread, the villa was divided, with the boys finding humor in Dylan’s comment while the girls rallied around Sophie, questioning the fairness of the situation.

Love Island: Australia - Sophie addresses the incident

In an interview following the emotional night, Sophie, 22, shared her perspective on what transpired. Before entering the Love Island: Australia villa, Sophie had a brief fling with Zane, and once inside, she felt it was her turn to explore other options, just as Dylan had done earlier in the season.

“I’m not trying to make excuses for what happened, but I was still getting to know Dylan,”

Sophie explained.

“In the beginning, Dylan was getting to know multiple people and now it was my turn.”

Sophie also clarified her connection with Zane, explaining,

“I knew Zane from the outside [before Love Island], and we had the opportunity to explore something. I’d be stupid if I didn’t.”

However, when 'Movie Night' revealed Dylan's comments, Sophie felt humiliated. She expressed her frustration with the double standards in the villa, where the boys congratulated each other for exploring connections with multiple girls, but when a girl like Sophie tries to get to know multiple people, she is shamed.

What happened before Dylan knew about Zane

The drama between Sophie and Dylan had started earlier in the week, during the Monday, November 25 episode of Love Island: Australia. Dylan, sensing that Sophie might still have feelings for Zane, confronted her about it.

“Do you think there’s anything still there?” Dylan asked Sophie during a chat by the Firepit.

Sophie reassured him that her connection with Zane was a thing of the past.

“We do have a past, nothing serious though. We... it was very not serious,”

she explained. She emphasized that Zane had moved on and was now focused on his relationship with Kaylah. In the Beach Hut, Sophie breathed a sigh of relief.

“I thought the reason he was quiet was the complete opposite. I thought he wasn’t into me, and worried that I’m into other guys!”

she admitted. The couple seemed to have cleared the air, but the fallout from 'Movie Night' quickly reignited tensions.
