“Ellie just wants to win” - Kate Chasten shares thoughts about cast member’s work ethics in Below Deck Mediterranean After Show

In season 9 episode 13 part 2 of the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show, Kate Chasten and Chief Stew Aesha Scott talked about Ellie. Aesha said that while Ellie is a good worker, she focuses more on how she presents herself and how she looks on the show. The chief stew suggested that if Ellie kept her head down and just focused on her work, it would help her grow.

Kate added that Ellie could have been a chief stew if she had her head set on the work instead of other things. Kate said:

"Ellie could have actually been a chief stew... If she had played a little cool. Ellie just wants to win. She wants to win in the ranks against Bri, she wants to win Joe against Bri, she wants to win any costume contest in any country she visits."

Below Deck Mediterranean star Ellie Dubaich wants to be a chief stew in the future

Ellie Dubaich came on the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show to talk about her future plans. In the season 9 episode, Ellie had a conversation with Aesha Scott, where she told her that she wanted to gain experience as a chief stew.

When asked what were Ellie's motives behind the talk, she said she wanted to widen her reach. At the time she had the conversation with Aesha, everything was going well for her, and she was getting comfortable with the job and the crew.

She felt that that was the right time to ask Aesha if there was anything else she could learn. Her ultimate aim was to get a small boat and become the chief stew on it.

"I wanted to use these last couple of chatters to learn anything else regarding the chief stew position. Because I wanna like to go home and find like a small boat and throw myself into the chief stew role," Ellie said to Aesha.

Ellie wanted to learn more about the role and get herself familiar with the chief stewardess position. She said that she hoped to know about things like provisioning and things that Aesha did in her job behind the curtains that she didn't see.

It was her chance to gain enough knowledge on Below Deck Mediterranean to someday go on her own boat and be comfortable with the role.

Who is Ellie Dubaich?

Ellie aka Elena Dubaich is a stew on the Below Deck Mediterranean yacht. She is from Škofja Loka, Slovenia, and has over eight years of experience in the yachting industry. Her favorite off-boat activity is to spend time in the gym and get back her muscle mass which she normally loses during a charter season.

Besides being a stew, she is a personal trainer, yoga instructor, massage therapist, and guided meditation teacher. While talking about her wildest charter guest story, in her character description, she said that she was once invited to go on her first helicopter ride over the British Virgin Islands.

During her eight years on the yacht, she visited "cool places" such as Greenland, the Amazon River, Patagonia, and Cuba. She shared that after being onshore for months, returning to regular life is often hard for most of the crew.
