90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 7 showcased Niles and Matilda's journey and how they connected throughout their long-distance relationship. They met almost two years ago and were pen pals, but later turned into a couple. Soon, Niles proposed to Matilda and was ready to visit her hometown.
Matilda was ready to get married to Niles but Niles wasn't. In the newly released October 27 episode, Niles told Matilda he couldn't get married to her on this trip. This revelation was a shock to Matilda who was hurt to hear this.
Later, Niles admitted to his mistake of not communicating this to Matilda earlier. During his confessional interview, he told the cameras that Matilda had "every right to be mad" as he got "multiple opportunities to come clean." The 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days cast member said:

Niles explains why he postponed the wedding on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 7 episode 9
The 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 7 cast member told the cameras that he was in love with Matlida but as of now only wanted an engagement. When Matilda asked him when he was going to marry her, Niles said that he had to figure out his schedule after going back to the States. He promised her that he would return and they would get married. During his confessional interview, Niles explained:
"I know that I love Matilda and I'm ready to get engaged with her. The knocking ceremony is the official engagement. I thought this would be a compromise between postponing the wedding and going through with it. But I don't know if Matilda is going to accept that."
Later in the episode, he apologized to Matilda for not communicating clearly and telling her the truth. He explained that he didn't want to ruin the moment and was struggling to reveal this as Matilda was happy with the wedding preparations.
Matilda told her partner to be honest with her in the future and stated she would have been okay with not marrying if Niles had informed her before the preparations began.
The upcoming episodes will reveal when the two will meet again and whether Niles will agree to a wedding date as per Matilda's wish.
