On April 1, 2024, Charity and Dotun both deleted pictures of their engagement and posted cryptic messages on their story to draw more attention to their deleted pictures. One of the messages read:

Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko's story unfolded on The Bachelorette season 20, which premiered in June 2023. The season started with 25 contestants and was reduced to 2 finalists by the last week. Charity was put in the tough spot of choosing between Dotun Olubeko and Joey Graziadei.

Her love for Dotun peaked above all as she respectfully sent Joey Graziadei home and said yes to Dotun when he went on one knee. Fate had its plans for breaking Joey Graziadei's heart because if not for Charity, Joey wouldn't have found his perfect partner in Kelsey on The Bachelor season 28.

Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko are set to get married in 2025, according to what Charity revealed on the Golden Wedding special, which aired in January this year.

In the Q&A session, a fan asked for the reason for their wait till 2025. Charity said that they were simply stalling their wedding till 2025 because they wanted to plan it thoroughly. She said:

"Planning. Simple as that. I think a lot of y’all forget or may not know what all has to go into wedding planning, and for me, I personally do not want to plan a wedding in a rush of 5 months. I choose peace and not stress which I will experience regardless cause it’s wedding planning".

Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko moved to New York City from their initial place of residence, Los Angeles, after she was done filming Dancing with the Stars. In the interview, she was asked how her transition had been, to which she replied that it was just what she needed and that they were taking time to decorate their new house.
