Fact Check: Are Shayne and Chloe from Perfect Match season 1 still together?

Shayne Jansen and Chloe Veitch were one of the most popular couples in season 1 of Perfect Match, which premiered on February 14, 2023. That was because of the twists they had to go through on their journey to the finale of the show.

However, even though they were one in the finale, they broke up shortly after as reality kicked in, according to what Chloe said in an interview with Today. She said,

"When we got outside of the villa, the bubble that we had around us just popped."

Not long after their breakup, Chloe got into a relationship, while Shayne battled with the grief of losing his mother.

On a show where they had both come to find true love, Chloe and Shayne had instant sparks flying on their first date together. After a lot of ups and downs in their relationship, Chloe and Shayne made it to the finale but lost to Dom Gabriel and Georgia Hasserati.

Shortly after the season concluded in February 2023, Chloe made her break up official on March 1, 2023, in an interview with Today. She said,

"We’re not together unfortunately. Towards the end of the episodes in ‘Perfect Match,’ there were some bumpy roads, up and down."

She said that she was very hopeful when she had made Shayne her Perfect Match, however, her bubble popped when she stepped out in the real world. Whether they still remain friendly after the breakup or not is unknown.

She said that after her breakup that she was focusing on presenting and acting, both of which were her dreams. She was also hopeful about finding love one day.

Shayne on the other hand, acknowledged his Perfect Match journey in an Instagram thread, which had pictures of his time on the show, also with Chloe. The caption said,

"What a journey it’s been. Ive grown a lot but still have more to do and that’s life".

Two weeks after Chloe Veitch announced her breakup with her partner Shayne, she confirmed her new relationship in an interview with ENews. She said she was dating a hockey player by the name of Ivan Lodnia. She said that she had met him in Malibu "by chance", and was the one to ask his number.

In the interview, she confirmed that she and Ivan were looking at the long-term future together and also said that he was "the one". However, the two haven't posted anything on social media for a long time now, they don't even follow each other on Instagram, which might be an indication of a split.

Shayne on the other hand, posted about the passing of his mother three months before the Perfect Match season 1 premiered. This means that he lost both his mother and his date in the span of a few months.

This was because Mitchell was Chloe's ex-boyfriend and she chose to rekindle her relationship over her already existing bond with Shayne. Shayne was sent home when she chose Mitchell over him because he didn't have a connection with any other castmate of his.

Just when fans thought one of their favorite pairs had bit the dust, Chloe started having second thoughts. She realized that she and Mitchell were encountering the same problems that were the reason for their breakup. So she tried getting back with Shayne; and after several fights, Shayne complied, and was back in the game.
