During The Real Housewives of Orange County reunion, Heather Dubrow brought up Katie Ginella’s involvement in a 2016 lawsuit, suggesting a history of making false accusations. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, the incident began when a man accused Katie of making false claims to the police, which allegedly resulted in his arrest.

He claimed the altercation began when he shook his head at her for texting while driving, after which she reportedly followed him to his residence, confronted him, and called 911 to report a crime. The man’s lawsuit further alleged that the police concluded Katie was the main aggressor, which influenced the legal outcome. He was awarded a default judgment of $112,945.

Heather’s mention of this incident during the reunion prompted Katie to respond, as she sought to present her version of events and address Heather’s reference to her history.

When asked to share her perspective during The Real Housewives of Orange County reunion, Katie described the 2016 altercation differently. She explained that she was driving with her children when a man in another vehicle began swerving into her lane and shouting at her.

Katie stated that she pulled off the road to let him pass, but he stopped in front of her vehicle and continued shouting, which prompted her to call the police for assistance.

Katie continued her account by claiming that when she attempted to leave, the man allegedly ran behind her car and began filming. She stated that her children were present and upset by the situation. Katie maintained that her actions were intended to ensure her and her children’s safety.

Heather also mentioned during the reunion that Katie had looked into her personal life before they met in person, suggesting that Katie was interested in her life before any direct interaction. Pointing out this alleged behavior as unusual, Heather stated,

“I don’t know why you were trying to look into things about me months before you met me,”

Katie responded by clarifying her intentions, suggesting that she did not anticipate Heather's reaction to her curiosity. She said,

“I honestly, Heather, didn’t think this would be so rattling.”

Statements from other cast members

As Katie continued sharing her perspective, other cast members joined the conversation. Emily spoke about Katie’s past by alleging,

“She falsely accused someone, and he ended up going to prison.”

Katie quickly responded to this, claiming,

“He didn’t go to prison. Can I just tell the story?”

Host Andy Cohen then allowed Katie to explain her perspective on the incident, where she recounted the events as she experienced them. Katie described the incident as a distressing event for her and her children and claimed that the police version of the story did not align with her own.

She disputed the characterization that she had followed the man home, maintaining that she did not pursue the individual. Heather questioned Katie’s account by referring to the police’s documentation of the event. Heather said,

“So the police are lying!”

Katie responded to Heather’s comments by claiming,

“I would never follow anyone home.”
