The HGTV reality TV show Farmhouse Fixer focuses on Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin as they use their abilities and skills to restore old homes and maintain their heritage. This hit series first premiered in 2021, and following the success of seasons 1 and 2, it was announced in April 2023 that the popular HGTV show would be renewed for a third installment.
Farmhouse Fixer season 3 is set to premiere on April 23, 2024, exclusively on HGTV. Episode 1 titled Island Lighthouse Renovation will focus on Jon and Kristina's attempts to renovate a historic lighthouse located in Salem, Massachusetts.
Due to time constraints and harsh weather conditions, Jon's teammates and volunteers will have to rush as the clock ticks. The episode synopsis as per HGTV reads:
"Jon and Kristina renovate a historic lighthouse on an island off the coast of Salem, Massachusetts. With a small budget a team of volunteers, the team needs to race against the clock before weather forces the island to close for the season."
What to expect from Farmhouse Fixer season 3?
Speaking to Boston Global in an interview published on April 22, 2024, Jonathan Knight shared some behind-the-scenes details about Farmhouse Fixer season 3. He explained that the lighthouse episode "sounded so dreamy" but that wasn't the case for the crew members who had to arrange building supplies and camera equipment on set. However, Jon and Kristina will take on several challenges to complete their renovations in time.
Kristina also spoke to the publication and revealed that Jon is scared of heights. However, she stated that he still went to the top of the lighthouse, and Jon jokingly responded:
“It was only for Kristina. I almost passed out and fell off a 100-foot-tall lighthouse and crashed onto the rock.”
As per the Farmhouse Fixer stars, each episode will focus on a new location and renovation. HGTV mentioned on its website that apart from the lighthouse, the duo will be seen renovating a former clam shack, and 200 to 300–year–old farmhouses.
Loren Ruch, the Head of Content at HGTV spoke to Deadline and shed light on what the eight-episode season would be about.
“Jonathan Knight has captivated a loyal audience of farmhouse fanatics who dream of owning and restoring a historic property of their own. This new order for Farmhouse Fixer will spotlight his incredible passion to save even more of these centuries-old homes,” they said.
Flipping houses and preserving the historic element of old farmhouses has hooked viewers to the show. Fans also learn tips and tricks to elevate their homes and follow steps showcased by professional house flippers to enhance their spaces.
As per Deadline, the second season of the show grabbed the attention of 15 million viewers, and the upcoming installment is expected to reach a wider audience.
