“Feeding each other’s ego” - W.A.G.s to Riches star Sadé evaluates the “judgment” in their friend group dynamics

W.A.G.s to Riches is a new reality TV series that gives a glimpse into the lives of girlfriends and wives of famous athletes and rappers. The cast for this season consists of Maranda Johnson, Ashley Wheeler, Alexis Welch Stoudemire, Porsha Berto, Sadé Vanessa, Lastonia Leviston, Sharelle Rosado, Keeta Hill, and Julz Goddard.

Throughout the series, there have been conflicts between the cast members as they navigate friendships, and relationships while being in the public eye. Addressing the clashes within the friend group and the verbal fights, W.A.G.s to Riches star Sadé Vanessa told the cameras that there was "judgment" in "this group of women."

In episode 8, during her confessional interview, she told the cameras that the ladies were "feeding each others' ego." She continued:

"I think that the cliquiness and the judgment that goes on in this group of women is because they're feeding each other's ego. Just be your own person."

W.A.G.s to Riches season 1 episode 8 titled It Takes a Village was released exclusively on Netflix on January 22, 2025. The episode synopsis reads:

"An entourage crashes Keeta's beach volleyball party. Sadé reveals her secret. At Sharelle's event, Stoni pulls her aside to repeat vicious gossip."

In the previous episode 7, tensions increased between the cast as Ashley and Sharelle clashed with Julz. Sadé had invited Julz to Keeta's volleyball game and informed her that the other ladies would be there too. Julz on the other hand stated she was "done with drama," and would attend the game regardless of the conflict.

W.A.G.s to Riches star reflects on the friendships among the cast members

In W.A.G.s to Riches season 1 episode 8, Sadé Vanessa implied that during a conflict the cast members would gang up and be judgmental towards another person. She said that it is not possible for them to agree with each other every time, but that doesn't mean the "level of" respect should not be maintained through conflicts and verbal fights. Sade said:

"I don't think that everybody has to always agree with one another. I think that they're a level of like, respect that we can keep it to that's not so much like cliquey ganging up on each other. I don't know, I just hate cliquey s**t, I just don't like it."

W.A.G.s to Riches star Alexis also talked about the importance of being respectful within their friend group. She told the cameras that not everyone had to get along but "at the end of the day" no one should be "disrespectful" towards someone.

Alexis said that she wants to keep "instilling grace" in her friends and make them realize that no one is aware of what the other person is going through. She continued:

"I think it's really disrespectful to our time here when women don't respect each other. It happens, people don't get along. But at the end of the day, we need to adapt. Because we just don't know anyone's story. We don't know what they're going home to."

She added:

"So I want to make sure that I'm instilling grace in each of the women."
