Big Brother season 26 will make its way to screens on CBS on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. The season will have a two-night premiere, with the second premiere episode releasing on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Before the Big Brother season 26 premiere, CBS released details about the season's brand-new house. Fans of the show are aware of the show's thematic decor, which changes every season. The previous season saw a multiverse theme, and this season will have an Artificial Intelligence (AI) theme.
The designers have gone all out with the theme, as some pictures shared exclusively with Entertainment Weekly on July 9, 2024, depict. Among these are the matrix-like Have-Not room and the multicolored sci-fi-looking bedrooms.

Like its previous themes, this year's theme will be incorporated into the game as part of plot twists. The theme of Big Brother season 26 is in tandem with reality TV trends. A similar theme was seen in the latest season of The Circle, where an AI bot was introduced as a catfish.
First Look at the AI-inspired Big Brother season 26 house
Producers who chose the AI theme are calling it "BB AI," according to the official Big Brother press release by CBS. Producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan reminisced on the show's previous themes and said that they derived the themes from pop culture and trends. They discussed the previous themes, which included summer camp, tech, and the multiverse.
The press release also said that with the BB AI taking over, the new season will be "the most unpredictable" for the houseguests. Allison and Rich added that the theme also promises to bring fun, comedy, and "unexpected gameplay" to the house.
According to press release, the season 26 room designs were all AI-generated. As they discussed the Have-Not room, the most AI-looking room in the house, the producers said that when the AI was given the prompt for the room, the "BB AI crashed." They added that all that was left was a "wireframe skeleton bedroom."
They also stated that the prompt that was put in to create the bedroom said:,
"Create a futuristic bedroom for the year 2500, fit for five Houseguests" was the prompt for this front bedroom".
The prompt they gave for the backyard was to put together pieces from all the rooms inside the house for a mix-and-match outdoor space. Other pictures revealed a corner of the house with a hammock, another outdoor group sitting area, and a pool.
Apart from this, other specifics include the Head of the Household Room, a retreat for the head. The front bedroom has the year 2500 design and accommodates 5 contestants. The side bedroom is designed like a fantasy fair garden, while the third bedroom (the back bedroom) follows the theme of a sci-fi-looking rocky planet.
Other nitty-gritty items include an eight-foot root ball coffee table, a math-themed sky bridge, and a gym and bathroom painted in blue and yellow swirls. The same swirl graphics are used for the kitchen walls too, alongside some futuristic-looking concrete.
New episodes of Big Brother season 26 will drop on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 9 pm ET on CBS. The premiere episodes will be released on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, and Thursday, July 18, 2024.
