The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 premiered on November 4 on Netflix. After going on several dates with other freshly broken-up singles the contestants had to choose their trial partners at the end of episode 2.
At the Choice, Sandy expressed her interest in J.R. and shared he had "a lot of fire" and was different from Nick. However, her ex was triggered by how she was able to quickly open up to J.R. while she allegedly took a lot of time when she was with him.
Sandy responded that her connection with J.R. was genuine. She criticized her ex for judging her and expressed that she was just trying to embrace the experience.
"You've been so judgmental. I could tell. You're giving me these eyes. It's giving me so much anxiety because you brought me here. I'm just diving into this experience. I've done nothing but be so authentic and genuine" she said.

At the end of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 episode 2, the contestants were given a choice to select their trial partners. If the person they selected chose them back they would enter into a trial marriage.
During "The Choice" segment contestant Sandy shared how her potential suitor J.R. was different than her ex, Nick. She embraced the difference and believed that one of the aspects of the show was that the contestants were able to experience something different than what they already knew.
"We talked a lot about the fire that I have, and that's something problematic with the person that I came here with. I think, for one, J.R. has a lot of fire. I've just never dated someone that has that fire as well, so I'd actually be interested to see if we, like, come at each other or not," she continued.
Nick intervened and told his former The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On partner that it took him a long time to get her to open up, be vulnerable, and look into his eyes. However, he pointed out that it was easy for the ex to "quickly" do that with J.R.
"This has been pushing all of us so far outside of our comfort zone. I have said multiple times that eye contact, you know, that's something that I'm not really good at," Sandy responded.
Nick noted that Sandy and J.R. entered The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On with partners who were ready to marry and be with them forever. However, he felt that the two of them seemed "to have a nice connection" with their other partners, and considered this experience as "play or fun".
Sandy replied to her former partner that he had no idea about the level of connection she had established with J.R. She explained that it hadn't been "fun and play" for them and rather they shared a "genuine" and "really deep" connection.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star felt that she was judged by Nick as he was giving her a look. She pointed out that he was the one who gave her an Ultimatum and brought her into the show. She was just trying to embrace the experience and said that she had "done nothing but be so authentic and genuine".
Nick taunted her that if she was 'not ready for a future with somebody'', she should by all means do whatever she wanted.
"That's why I'm here. That is literally why I'm here, to figure out what I need from a partner in order to commit," Sandy replied
