“Go out with your head held high”— Outlast stars Drew and Drake vote Sammy out ahead of season 2 finale

In Outlast season 2 episode 7, team Bravo had only three teammates left. Drew, Drake, and Sammy shared a strong brotherly bond and always supported each other. They had recently acquired a boat and felt confident about their chances of winning the competition together. However, Sammy fell ill at the beginning of episode 7, which led to his elimination from the show.

Both teams (Delta and Bravo) received a message that a final challenge would decide who would win the show. The message irritated Bravo team members Drew and Drake because they had an ill player, making it difficult to complete the final challenge. They decided to conceal the message from Sammy and went to persuade him to flare himself out.

They told him that they were worried about his health. Drew told Sammy they loved him, but it would be smarter if he went home. He said that if Sammy did not want to quit, they could do him a favor and vote him out instead. Drew further told Sammy he could go out "head held high."

Drew said:

"You're our brother, dude. We love you. Like, truly. But I think ... we just think it'd be smarter if you ... if you went home. If it made you feel better and you don't want to tap out and you'd rather us vote you out, we can. You can go out with your head held high, if that's the case, bro."

Sammy listened to his teammates and chose to leave Outlast season 2.

How did Outlast stars Drew and Drake vote out Sammy?

Team Bravo was going strong with five members: Drew, Drake, Sammy, Bri, and Emily. They, however, suffered a huge loss when they bid farewell to two of their teammates in Outlast season 2 episode 6.

After Drew secured the boat for his team in episode 7, Sammy and Drake decided to explore the island in front of them. They took the boat, and as it was rising, Sammy informed his Moulast teammate that he wasn't feeling well.

Once they reached the shore and began to look into the island, Sammy's condition worsened. He first decided to sit down for a while and restore his energy. However, it didn't help, and he told Drake they needed to return to their camp. The Texas native took Sammy back to the camp, where he spent the rest of his time on the show resting inside their tent.

While Sammy was resting, Drew and Drake took their boat to Delta's camp to check on them, but they were met with unexpected resistance from Delta's strong presence.

On the way back to their camp, Drew and Drake discussed their confrontation and admitted that the opposition looked stronger than they were. They then spoke about Sammy and his condition.

They wanted to win the competition and believed that Sammy would hold them back as he was getting sicker with every passing moment. They explored the possibility of eliminating their teammate and dividing the prize money in half if they won. However, they decided to sleep on that decision.

Both remaining Outlast teams received a message stating that only 48 hours were left in the game and that they needed to decide if their current team would be their final team before the last challenge. This message made it easy for the two Bravo team members to vote out Sammy from the show.
