The Golden Bachelorette finale episode titled Finale Part 2 and the Final Rose was released exclusively on ABC on November 13, 2024. The episode revealed that Joan found her love for the second time and got engaged to Chock. Now that Joan's journey of finding a potential future partner has ended, the couple shared their future plans for making their relationship work in the real world.
As fans already know, Joan had clarified she was not ready to leave her family behind to pursue a relationship and wanted to long distance with her partner. During the November 14, 2024 People interview, the couple shared they had mutually decided to fly to their family's respective residences in Kan and D.C. However to spend time with each other, the couple shared they were planning to apartment hunt in New York City.
The 60-year-old insurance executive, The Golden Bachelorette cast member Chock explained that he and Joan will go "back and forth" between Kansas, Maryland, and New York. He shared their plans stating:
“We're going to be going back and forth between Kansas to Maryland and to New York. We'll have a full-time place in New York and whenever we get the opportunity, we're going to be there. We're going to get it figured out this next year."

During the interview, The Golden Bachelorette couple shared that they planned on spending more time with each other's families. Joan explained stating she would meet Chock's family in Wichita, Kan meanwhile Chock would visit Joan's family in D.C often. However, to "spend alone time" together, the couple has decided to go to New York.
The Golden Bachelorette love birds are ready to apartment hunt in Manhattan’s West Village neighborhood from Monday, November 18, 2024, onwards. Joan shared that she has always wanted to celebrate Christmas in the city, she continued:
“But when we want to be alone together, we'll probably be in New York. That's what we think right now. If nothing else, we'll certainly get a hotel or do an Airbnb. But I love that tradition. I love Christmas in the city.”
The newly engaged pair has three kids of their own from a previous marriage. Joan and Chock opened up about their children having step-siblings and celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas together as one united family. Joan shared she was excited for her children to get to know their step-siblings better and spend quality time with them. She explained:
"Our kids have gotten to know each other a little bit over the phone and texting, but they're finally going to get to spend four or five days together. We can't wait for them to be together because we feel like they are going to have a lot of fun with each other."
Joan also mentioned that she was looking forward to family gatherings and what the future holds for them, she said:
"It's weird at this age to welcome a new stepsibling into your life, and that's what it's going to be for them.”
