"Going for the million dollars"— America's Got Talent fans divided over Tonikaku's Quarterfinals performance

America's Got Talent season 19 has made it to its last round of Live Shows, i.e. Quarterfinals 4, on September 3. The 11 acts that were lined up to perform on the episode included two Golden Buzzer winners, Brent Street and Pranysqa Mishra.

Tonikaku was a comedy act who was commended for his performance in the previous two rounds of the show. However, his quarterfinal performance bore mixed reactions, not just from the viewers but also from the judges. While Sofia, Simon, and Howie had only good things to say about Toni's performance, Heidi didn't approve of it much.

Fans of America's Got Talent took to X to either praise him or state why they didn't like his performance. Just like the divide among the judges, some fans thought he deserved to go further, while others thought it missed the mark.

"Tonikaku is going for the million dollars!" a fan wrote.

"Tonikaku had a good final joke and I'll remember him after the show, that's all I'll say. He's in my top 3 so far for that alone," wrote another.

"Two words to describe Tonikaku's performance: "Hot mess."," wrote a third one.

"Tonikaku is so far the best act of the night," said another.

Some America's Got Talent fans were expecting more from the act and showed their disappointment in their tweets. They also pointed out the fact that Tonikaku was bullied and said that wasn't reason enough to take him forward. Others empowered him.

"Oh wow another 'I got bullied so vote for me' Listen like 99% of us got bullied and the 1% that didn't were the bullies. That doesn't mean you should win the show. It's about talent not sh*tty life story," one comment read.

"Tonikaku sure showed those bullies," commented a user.

"I would’ve buzzed Tonikaku if I were a judge. Come on, AGT. What the f*ck is this sh*t?" read another.

"This 'Pants' thing is the most annoying thing I’ve seen in my life," wrote an X user.

"Uh-oh. Tonikaku is up! How did he get into the quarter-finals?" wrote another.

Tonikaku's performance in the Live Shows on America's Got Talent season 19

Tonikaku's performance was called Tonikaku is wearing pants and it centered around the star's underpants. Tonikaku's talent appeared to have a unique edge.

He began his America's Got Talent Live Shows performance by acting like a star who won the one million dollar prize money. He then enacted a series of different scenarios, half-naked, doing justice to the name of his act.

The audience seemingly loved it as they cheered and hooted once he was done performing. Heidi was the first one to go, and she wasn't as impressed as the others, which she explained by saying:

"To me it was not mad enough, I was not feeling it really today".

She added that she didn't think it was a million-dollar performance. Sophia said she had fun with it and called Tonikaku a gift that kept giving. Simon said Tonikaku was one of his favorite acts ever and acknowledged the fact that nobody did what he did.

Howie said that he had the "ability to make so much out of so little". He also brought up his bullying and said it was great how he turned things around. Tonikaku left the stage assuring the audience that he would win.
