Gold Rush season 15 aired episode 10 on January 10, 2025. The latest episode brought new challenges and developments for the mining crews. Parker Schnabel continued to face financial pressure at Dominion Creek, pushing his team to its limits in pursuit of gold.
Meanwhile, Kevin Beets worked to overcome delays at Scribner Creek, receiving critical support from his father, Tony Beets, to boost his operation. Elsewhere, Tony’s crews worked hard to meet gold production goals, despite equipment issues affecting the progress.
Parker struggled with setbacks involving his new wash plant, Bob, which he hoped would turn the tide in his season. Kevin aimed to catch up after falling behind schedule, leaning on Tony’s help to make progress. Tony’s team dealt with their own equipment challenges but delivered impressive results in this episode of Gold Rush.
Park Schnabel faces challenges at Dominion Creek in Gold Rush
Parker Schnabel’s ninth week at Dominion Creek continued to be filled with challenges. With an goal of mining 10,000 ounces this season, Parker had already sunk $2.5 million into operations, only recovering a little over $1 million so far in this season of Gold Rush.
To improve his chances, he deployed a third wash plant, Bob, to supplement Big Red and Roxanne, which were already running. Bob was transported to Ken and Stuarts in a 12-mile trek through the tough terrain, led by Tyson Lee and Mike Tucker.
While the team was hopeful that Bob would boost their gold recovery, they encountered a setback: a torn belt halted operations. The crew rushed to repair the damage, knowing the pressure was on to make the plant operational quickly.
Despite running three wash plants, Parker’s results remained underwhelming. Big Red produced 58.85 ounces worth $147,000, Roxanne delivered 185.65 ounces worth $464,000, and Bob contributed 58.45 ounces worth $146,000.
With a total of 1,107 ounces for the season, Parker reflected on the disappointing outcome, calling it “embarrassing.” Despite the challenges, he remained optimistic about future prospects at Dominion Creek, determined to recover his losses and meet his goals. He said:
“It’s embarrassing. We’re nowhere near where we need to be, and it’s frustrating to see the numbers come in this low.”
Kevin Beets gets support from Tony Beets
At Scribner Creek, Kevin Beets faced a season fraught with delays. Nine weeks in, he hadn’t mined any gold, falling behind schedule due to frozen pay and equipment issues. His D10 dozer, essential for breaking through the frozen ground, had been out of commission for a month.
This forced his foreman, Brennan Ruault, to rely on an excavator’s smaller ripper blade, slowing the progress. Recognizing the challenges, Kevin’s father, Tony Beets, stepped in to provide much-needed support in Gold Rush. Tony loaned Kevin his $4 million D11 dozer, which accelerated digging operations.
He also ensured Kevin’s D10 dozer was repaired, offering a morale boost to the team.
“It’s just what we needed,” Kevin remarked, expressing gratitude for the timely intervention.
By the end of the week, Kevin had stockpiled a huge amount of pay, ready to thaw under the sun before sluicing. Meanwhile, Tony’s own operations remained steady, with both the Trommel at Paradise Hill and Sluice-A-Lot at Indian River delivering strong results. The Trommel produced 233.90 ounces worth $580,000, and Sluice-A-Lot contributed 203.20 ounces worth $500,000.
