What happened on Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars season 2 episode 7?
After winning the previous week’s challenge on Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, Team Ramsay took the Thames Rocket to the venue, while Team Vanderpump arrived in a car. The event was a food and beverage trade show at The International Food and Drink Event with around 30k visitors. The participant's task was to present various gadgets at the show.
One notable presentation included a $2000 blender. Participants were given three hours to prepare and showcase their honed skills in front of industry experts. If the judges liked the product, they might place orders.
The team with the highest sales would win. Guest judges and market-leading experts would judge the presentations. Both Lisa and Gordon were nervous for their respective teams.
Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars season 2: Team members
Team Ramsay had five members: Kyson Clark, Liz Aust, Rose Hankins, Ali Schlichter, and Andrew Whiting. Rose, with her trade show experience, was appointed the team leader. Their products included an automatic pot stirrer and a three-in-one butter knife. Ali opted to present the grater, Kyson chose the butter knife, Andrew took the blender, and Liz decided on the pot stirrer.
Team Vanderpump had four contestants: Roman Desmond, Nicholas Ducos, Erica Levin, and Jess Druey. Given his relevant experience, Nicholas was appointed the team leader. Roman chose the avocado gadget, Nicholas selected the blender presentation, Erica chose a semi-automatic whisk, and Jess got the grafting tool, which she tried to switch with Erica but wasn’t successful.
Preparations for the presentation
In this episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, when Lisa got the overall idea of her team’s presentations, she wasn't pleased. Right before the final presentation, Jess accidentally sliced her finger in the cheese grater, and Lisa wasn’t happy about that either.
Lisa’s reaction was:
"What the f*ck?"
With Jess’ sliced finger, Lisa gave her the whisk instead of the cheese grater. However, Jess was crying as she was overwhelmed.
On the other hand, participants from Team Ramsay were getting ready for their presentation, which was not going well. Rose opted for a fun presentation, believing it would better attract buyers. When Gordon came to check on his team’s presentations, he felt that they didn’t use their time well.
The judges included QVC host Lucia Fox, Home Bargains buyer Michael Baranowski, and Chris Georgeson, VP of Sales for BlendTec.
Final presentations: Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars season 2 episode 7
Team Ramsay presented first, with Rose introducing everyone. Kyson presented the butter knife, and the thing that he feared the most happened, he stuttered. He didn’t show the demo of the knife, which seemed incomplete. Lucia was next, who didn’t fully explore her product, which Gordon didn’t like.
Rose followed with her multi-blade herb scissors, and Liz presented the automatic pot stirrer. Ali’s presentation involved slicing carrots, which Gordon thought was dangerous. However, Andrew’s performance was appreciated by everyone. Later, Gordon demonstrated how to use a butter knife to make butter curls.
Team Vanderpump started with Nicholas, who presented a breakfast and explained everything about the blender. However, he forgot to put on the lid while making the smoothie.
Next was Roman, who showed his avocado tool, followed by Erica with the grater. Jess’s performance with the whisk was appreciated despite her sliced finger. She answered the judges' questions and explained everything.
Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars episode 7 results, grilling, and elimination
In episode 7, Team Vanderpump received 50% potential sales, while Team Ramsay got 33% potential sales, resulting in Team Ramsay's loss. Gordon was not happy about it at the grilling. He talked about “reading the room” and emphasized:
"Well, what the f*ck room were you guys in?"
He also asked Ali about needing more knowledge about the product and Kyson for his demo.
The seventh episode ended with Kyson Clark leaving the show. His parting words were:
"This has been the best experience of my life. And I would have never thought … I would have never thought that I would have [done] something like this. So, thank you so much."
Additionally, Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars episode 7 featured Rose Hankin’s elimination.
While leaving the competition, she shared:
"It sucks … really sucks. I have learned that never giving up gives you something good, and this has been something so good. I’m going to pick myself back up, and I’m going to use what I learned here going forward because that can take me so, so far."
