Rhythm + Flow season 2 gives new emerging artists a stage to showcase their rap abilities and make a name for themselves in the American hip-hop scene. Now that the third batch of episodes of the reality TV competition series has been released, the judges DJ Khaled, Ludacris, and Latto will evaluate the remaining five contestants' performances.
On Rhythm + Flow season 2 episode 8, it was revealed that the remaining five contestants were to collaborate with famous artists. Jaxs opened up about reaching this stage of the competition and shared that she was getting a feature on Honey Bxby's song for the next segment.
She stated she was "nervous" about "putting the rust of the collab in the hands" of someone else. Jaxs elaborated on the feeling of anxiousness that came with potentially manipulating "your sound to compromise." The Rhythm + Flow cast member said:
"I'm excited, but I'm, also a little, like nervous 'cause we're putting the trust of the collab in the hands of somebody else. You kinda get anxious how much you'll have to manipulate your sound to compromise."
The final three episodes of Rhythm + Flow season 2 including episode 8 titled Boss Up were released exclusively on Netflix on December 4, 2024. The episode 8 synopsis reads as the following:
"The Top 5 discover which rising R&B star they'll be paired with for the "Collabs" round. Season 1 winner D Smoke drops by the studio to offer guidance."
Jaxs opens up about being among the Top 5 contestants on Rhythm + Flow season 2
In season 2, the judges revealed that the Top 5 contestants were to collaborate on stage with well-renowned artists. DJ Khaled shared that this was a great opportunity for the cast members however, it wasn't easy to make an impression on the audience when a song is already famous.
He talked about the importance of chemistry and staying focused to make it the best feature possible, Khaled said:
"I mean, the chemistry is important. You've gotta be the best thing on the record. Right? So I think it's one focus only. You gotta get the world talking."
After Jaxs got to know she was collaborating with Honey Bxby, she was excited to share the Rhythm + Flow stage with her during this collab. Jaxs said:
"She got like little space buns in the video. I love dangerous. I love Busta Rhymes. Perfect, I'm excited. I'm going to eat this sh*t. I need to hear what she talking about."
Additionally, Ludacris stated that Jaxs is an artist who likes a challenge and has pushed "through" every obstacle. He appreciated her ability to continue being resilient as a rapper. The judge continued:
"Jaxs with an X, she's had resilience in everything she's done. Because it's not like she's been up against easy individuals. She push through every challenge."
In episode 9 titled Stay Humble, Jaxs performed on stage and received positive remarks from the Rhythm + Flow season 2 judges. She further discussed that being in the Top 5 was "intense" and that she wanted to bring the electrifying "energy" on stage.
