“He’d make me need therapy”— Love is Blind Mexico star Irais says after meeting Rene 

Love is Blind Mexico has been making waves on the internet with its release on August 1, 2024. The first four episodes that made their way on Netflix saw some of the 30 total contestants getting to know each other. A handful of them got engaged and began the second phase of the experiment, the honeymoon.

Irais and Rene were among the couples who got engaged in episode 3 of Love is Blind Mexico, and saw each other for the first time after that. Their similarities and bond from the pods aside, Irais couldn't see herself with Rene after she saw him.

This was because she didn't relate to his physical appearance, which caused her to reject him, and the two were sent home. While giving reasons for her rejection, Irais said,

"I feel like he'd make me need therapy. I don't need any more therapy".

She then described various physical aspects of him that she disapproved of. The duo wasn't a part of the honeymoon segment of the show, but Irais was seen wearing a wedding dress in the show's promo, which could signal their rekindling in the upcoming episodes.

Why did Irais reject Rene after getting engaged to him in episode 3 of Love is Blind Mexico?

The opening episodes of Love is Blind Mexico saw sparks flying between Irais and Fernando, to the point where Irais, and even the viewers, thought they were going to get hitched. Things went downhill for Irais because Fernando found a better connection with Karen and moved on with her.

While chatting with Fernando, Irais was still connected to Rene. So after Fernando left, she focused more on her relationship with Rene. They eventually got engaged which ensued the big reveal.

Upon seeing Rene for the first time, Irais didn't have much to say, while Rene couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful he thought she was. Fans also pointed out the fact that Irais and Rene didn't kiss like most of the other engaged couples did upon meeting for the first time.

After they were done meeting in episode 3, Irais took to a confessional to say how she felt about Rene. She said that he looked like a "bad boy" and added:

"No this isn't my guy, you switched him. Mine sounds different".

She added that she noted that he had two piercings one on his nose and the other on the ear and said that she didn't like them. She then said that she saw a "stranger" because she couldn't relate him to the voice she had been talking to in the pods.

She continued to say that he gave off the "party stereotype" vibe and that she was hoping he wasn't like that. She also added that he looked like a "drunk". She said that if she met him in the outside world, she'd never have had anything to do with him.

Rene on the other hand, said he loved how Irais looked and added that he could see himself on the altar with her. However, after their meeting ended, Rene sensed that Irais wasn't convinced by his appearance. He said that if Irais doesn't like how he looks, there's not much he can do about it.

The narrator then announced that they'd have to exit Love is Blind Mexico because they didn't wish to go ahead with the experiment. However, the glimpses in the promo saw Irais wearing a wedding dress and walking down the aisle, which might mean that they would join the show again.
