Love is Blind: UK returned to Netflix on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, with Episodes 5-9. The cast members encountered the harsh realities of everyday life as they returned from their romantic retreat in Corfu, Greece. Having left the comfort of the pods, the couples geared up to meet each other's family members, hoping to earn their approval.
Nicole left the pods engaged to Sam but soon broke up with him after realizing she had a stronger connection with Benaiah. She reunited with Benaiah and ultimately got engaged to him. The Love is Blind: UK star felt nervous when it was her turn to meet his family in Episode 9. She wondered if they would approve of her knowing she initially rejected him.
Benaiah's mother Gabi got emotional recalling the state of her son after he faced rejection in the pods.
"He couldn't eat. We've never seen him in a state like that, have we? You couldn't really talk to him either," said Gabi.
Before Benaiah's mother, Gabi, and sister, Eliza arrived, Benaiah warned Nicole that she might get questioned for rejecting him and choosing Sam. He mentioned he went to Germany to be with his family after exiting the pods. It was "tough" for his mother and sister to see him "upset." He admitted those days were "tough" for him and his family.
"I've never felt more nervous" — Love is Blind: UK star Nicole worries about meeting Benaiah's family
While speaking to the cameras, Nicole revealed she felt anxious about facing Benaiah's family. She accepted she "hurt Ben," and as a result, expected "a grilling about Sam."
"I've never felt more nervous about meeting a person's family and relatives," said Nicole.
She knew she had to impress them because their opinion mattered to Benaiah. The Love is Blind: UK cast member stated she would quietly listen to their concerns because she knew they came "from a protective place."
As they sat down to eat their meal, Benaiah noted that ever since he reconnected with Nicole, their journey had been "surreal." However, Gabi recalled how emotionally vulnerable he was after he returned from the pods. As a mother, she was genuinely worried.
To take accountability for the chaos, Nicole said:
"I need to take some ownership here to apologize. I don't want to feel like anyone has any disgruntlement or reservations about me."
She added the situation with Benaiah and Sam was neither good nor "healthy," and that she should have handled it in a better way. Hearing her apology, Gabi asked Nicole to tell her more about herself. When the Love is Blind: UK cast member revealed she had been married before, Gabi and Eliza sympathized with her.
Soon, they inquired what caused most of their arguments. Benaiah mentioned Sam was the reason they sometimes clashed. He explained it was because each had a different perspective about him. Gabi stated Benaiah could see "right through" Sam and hoped Nicole noticed the flaws earlier, which could have helped them avoid the chaos they were in.
"I don't wanna go into the details. But I know, I know the guy. I know what I saw of him," said Nicole.
Benaiah's family suggested she moved on from the "little bit of good" she saw in Sam. Eliza requested Benaiah to do the same and focus on building a future with Nicole instead.
Nicole reassured the family that seeing Benaiah try to be "a better version of himself" made her realize he was "the one." The way he cared for her and attempted to protect her from any mistreatment made her feel loved.
Seeing the Love is Blind: UK couple's connection, Eliza stated it felt "refreshing" and that it was a "good sign."
Love is Blind: UK will return to Netflix with Episodes 10-11 on August 21, 2024.
