Love Island USA season 6 concluded on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Four couples made it to the finale, where Serena and Kordell were declared winners. Leah and Miguel came in second place, while JaNa and Kenny, and Kendall and Nicole finished in third and fourth place, respectively.
Two couples, Rob and Kassy, and Kaylor and Aaron were eliminated from the show ahead of the finale. While Rob and Kassy were a newly formed couple, Aaron and Kaylor had been together since day one. As a result, their chemistry appealed to the viewers.
Love Island USA season 6 finalists JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez recently appeared in an episode of the Chicks in the Office podcast, released on Monday, July 22, 2024. In the episode, JaNa shared her opinion on what unfolded between Kaylor and Aaron after the latter got intimate with 'bombshell' Daniela at Casa Amor.
"I would have morning talks with Aaron and, like, he genuinely cared about her [Kaylor], he genuinely felt, like, really hurt, that he went about that way, and if he could rewind time, he wouldn't even, you know, go near Daniela," she said.
JaNa discussed how both the islanders dealt with the aftermath of Casa Amor. She defended Aaron while attempting to understand where Kaylor's rage originated from.
Love Island USA season 6 alum JaNa believes co-star Aaron is a "genuine guy"
In the podcast episode, hosts Ria and Fran asked JaNa to share her opinion on Kaylor and Aaron's relationship. She revealed their situation was complex since both sides had reasons to justify their actions inside the Love Island USA villa.
Aaron received backlash from Kaylor and the other female islanders for pursuing an intimate relationship with 'bombshell' Daniela. Kaylor was upset with his decision to go to Casa Amor but once she learned about his activities there, she became furious.
JaNa revealed that Aaron had genuine feelings for his Love Island USA partner. He only indulged in his temptations and pursued Daniela to test his relationship with Kaylor.
"I think Aaron is such a genuine guy. I hate that he had, like, a bad light on him, because Kaylor got to test the relationship with Connor. Aaron never got to test the relationship, so, like his Casa Amor was, like, his test," said JaNa.
When newcomer Connor Newsum entered the villa on day two, he showed an interest in Aaron's partner, Kaylor, who reciprocated his advances and kissed him. When Aaron heard about the incident he was upset, but Kaylor pleaded with him and convinced him to give her another chance.
JaNa defended Aaron's actions by stating that since Kaylor had her experience, it was justified for Aaron to want the same. However, she also admitted that he "went a little overboard" and "got too excited."
Aaron had been with Kaylor since the start and never expressed an interest in exploring other options. Even during the Casa Amor recoupling ceremony, Aaron returned without Daniela, wanting to reunite with Kaylor. Taking notice of that, JaNa said that Aaron had "focused all of his energy on Kaylor" during the entire show.
"He [Aaron] focused all of his energy on Kaylor the entire show, and then gets to sit back and watch her, like, you know, kiss Connor, so I felt, like, he thought that maybe, this is his time to, like, test the relationship. So, I felt really bad the way it came about," the Love Island USA contestant said.
She said Aaron was "only human" and did not deserve the treatment he received after Casa Amor. During Movie Night, when Aaron's intimate moments with Daniela were revealed, Kaylor confronted him. In response, he told her he wanted to have "his experience."
However, at the same time, JaNa felt bad to see that Kaylor "cried every night," while Aaron was away at Casa Amor.
The Love Island USA couple soon reconciled and took their relationship to the next level by becoming committed partners.
