Hell's Kitchen returns for season 23 with a fresh twist on the competition format that fans have come to love. Premiered on FOX on September 26, 2024, this season's theme is Head Chefs Only, showcasing 18 experienced head chefs from diverse culinary backgrounds. Each of these accomplished chefs is accustomed to calling the shots and leading their kitchens.

Previous season overview
Season 22 of the American competitive reality television series Hell's Kitchen, subtitled as Hell's Kitchen: The American Dream, premiered on Fox on September 28, 2023, and concluded on January 25, 2024.
Gordon Ramsay returned as host and head chef, while Christina Wilson returned as the Red Team's sous-chef, and Jason Santos returned as the Blue Team's sous-chef. Marino Monferrato also returned as maître d'.
This season marked the last time the show was filmed in California before relocating to the East Coast starting with Season 23. The season concluded with chef Ryan O'Sullivan claiming the title, making him the first Hell's Kitchen winner to hail from outside the United States.

For the first time, Hell's Kitchen is set on the East Coast at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. The episode begins with a recap of Ryan O'Sullivan's victory over Johnathan Benvenuti from last season. This season kicks off with the Signature Dish Challenge, where chefs, escorted by the U.S. Coast Guard and guided by sous chefs James Avery and Michelle Tribble, compete for a chance to lead the kitchen at Hell's Kitchen Foxwoods Resort Casino and win $250,000.
The competition starts with each chef having 40 minutes to create their best dish. Tensions rise when Brittany gets injured, but seven contestants earn perfect scores, showing the tough competition. The episode ends dramatically with Chef Ramsay using a flamethrower to start a fire, leaving viewers with a "To Be Continued" for more intense challenges ahead.
