Big Brother season 26's latest episode aired on Thursday, August 8, 2024. It featured unexpected revelations, an adrenaline-inducing challenge, and a suspenseful eviction. Tucker won the Power of Veto (PoV) challenge and used it to take Angela off the block instead of himself.
Cedric nominated Makensy as the replacement, but she used "America's Veto" power to safeguard herself from eviction. With over 5 million votes, America chose Quinn as the third nominee, alongside Tucker and Kenney. Tucker won the AI Arena competition, and ultimately, Kenney was sent packing.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, published on August 9, Kenney reflected on his stay in the Big Brother house and shared his thoughts on Angela's demeanor on the show.
"Her initial behavior was terrible. I didn't agree with it at all. I'm not a person who likes confrontation, which is why I decided to go into the Big Brother house. Surprise, Surprise," said Kenney.
Angela had been a point of controversy since the show's start. She often clashed with the other houseguests and was renowned for her expressive reactions and emotional outbursts. She came into the limelight early on in the show, when she had a big confrontation with Matt.
Kenney says Angela is a "sweetheart" despite her behavior in the Big Brother house
Kenney revealed he disagreed with Angela's demeanor with others. Since he was not a fan of confrontation, he refrained from supporting her arguments when she found herself in a tight spot. He admitted everyone had a different way of tackling a crisis and his method differed from Angela's.
"I went off by myself and I would become quiet. She [Angela] wasn't able to do that. She had to express it in a different way. We're all different and we're all human, but I still didn't agree with the way it was done," said Kenney.
Lisa was the second evictee to leave the house after Matt. She was pitted against Angela and was eventually sent home after receiving 11 votes in her name. Kenney was the sole houseguest who decided to vote against Angela. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he explained what motivated his decision.
"She [Angela] kind of went after Quinna little bit. She went after Lisa a little bit. She actually made Cedric super upset in the kitchen one day, and I couldn't get past that. Even though I know the house flipped and that Lisa was going out, I still couldn't vote to keep Angela in the house," said Kenney.
The Big Brother cast member confessed that although Angela's behavior was not the best, she was an "absolute sweetheart." Whenever Kenney missed his family and wished to go home, she would motivate him to keep his "head in the game." He admitted her advice "got annoying" sometimes, but even then he listened to them because he knew Angela meant well.
He knew her sweet gestures were motivated by an agenda, but even then, he thought she genuinely cared about him and wanted him to enjoy his time in the Big Brother house.
Kenney revisited Angela's heated argument with Matt in the first week of the show. Feeling threatened by Matt's gameplay, Angela accused him of forming alliances with others and verbally abusing her to keep her in check. She confronted Matt and called him "crazy eyes" while the others stared in disbelief.
"When she came down the stairs clapping and going off on Matt, I was like, "This is scripted!" I'm like, "She's a plant in the house. She's probably, like, Ainsley's puppet in the house and she's just going to do whatever they [tell her to]." So I thought it was part of the game, to be honest with you," confessed Kenney.
Although the Big Brother cast member agreed there was no need for "that much drama in the house," he admitted it was just how Angela was. She was a "go-get-it, happy-go-lucky" person who just wanted to have a good time. Kenney added that the pressure of being the Head of Household (HoH) in the first week overwhelmed Angela, prompting her to act that way.
Big Brother season 26 airs on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only on ABC.
