On Netflix's Love Never Lies: South Africa, six South African couples put their relationships to the test. Host Minenhle 'Minnie' Dlamini guides the couples as they work to rebuild their relationships and compete for a cash prize. However, with tempting singles and deep-seated trust issues, loyalty is uncertain. The contestants are divided into two villas, Umgowo and Umjolo. As the competition progresses, betrayal and heartache become increasingly evident.

In the finale episode of Love Never Lies: South Africa, Pretty discussed her partner Siya with the other villa residents. Pretty claimed that Siya had acknowledged his infidelity, but Kuda disputed this. Pretty explained that Siya had instead blamed her for their communication issues. Nikiwe intervened, saying that Siya hadn't cheated but had crossed boundaries by flirting with another woman.

Nikiwe acknowledged that Siya's actions were hurtful but emphasized that he genuinely loved Pretty. In a confessional, Pretty expressed her hope that Siya would return a better person, having learned from his mistakes. Nikiwe observed that Pretty was struggling to reconcile her desire to be angry with Siya's apparent remorse, wanting to hold him accountable for his actions.

"You don't want to be too happy because that makes you feel like you are letting go of what he did. You want to hold him accountable. And you know, if anything else, what he realized, he dished out stuff he can't take," Nikiwe said.

What other events happened in the finale of Love Never Lies: South Africa?

The Love Never Lies: South Africa finale kicked off with Gontse reuniting with her fellow Villa Umjolo castmates. As they reminisced about their journey, tensions ran high as they shared strong words about their partners in the other villa. Wilfred was particularly disappointed in Clayton's behavior, which was revealed through footage.

The couples were reunited for the final time at the ceremony, where Minnie announced that the last EyeDetect test would significantly impact the grand prize. Truthful answers would add 30,000 Rand, while a single lie would deduct 10,000 Rand. Munaka and Gontse were the first to take the test, answering truthfully and setting the tone for the others.

Kuda and Lynn followed, and Kuda apologized for not creating a safe space for conversation. However, Lynn's answer about wanting to break up with Kuda was revealed to be a lie. Wilfred and Clayton also took the test, answering truthfully and adding 60,000 Rand to the prize pot. Nikiwe and Naledi took their turn, professing to have missed each other during their separation. However, the EyeDetect test revealed that their claims were false.

In contrast, Pretty and Siya demonstrated their commitment to each other, answering truthfully and discussing their future plans on Love Never Lies: South Africa. Minnie asked Siya about Pretty's communication style, asking if she needed to be less aggressive. Siya answered yes, and Minnie confirmed his response was truthful.

Siya explained to Pretty that he wasn't trying to change her but hoped she could tone down her loudness during arguments, as it often overpowered him. Pretty initially felt offended, thinking Siya was trying to alter her or make her appear bad. However, after hearing Siya's explanation, she understood his perspective. Siya's honesty earned them 30,000 Rand.

"I was offended at first that maybe he's trying to change me, or made me look like a bad person. But hearing where it's coming from, I sort of understand," said Pretty.

Minnie then asked Pretty about her commitment to a future with Siya. Pretty's affirmative answer was confirmed to be true. Siya was overjoyed, expressing his happiness and hinting at a potential proposal or marriage in the near future. Pretty envisioned a future with Siya, jokingly mentioning the possibility of twins.

Nancy and Bohlale also answered truthfully, showcasing their honesty and dedication to their relationship. Ultimately, Gontse and Munaka emerged as the winners of Love Never Lies: South Africa, having lied only once. They secured the grand prize of 720,000 Rand.

The reunion episode of Love Never Lies: South Africa airs on December 8, 2024 on Netflix.
