Honest Renovations season 2: Release date, what to expect, and more

Honest Renovations is coming back with its second season, premiering on August 23, 2024, on the Roku Channel. Jessica Alba and Lizzy Mathis are returning as the hosts and designers for the show.

This season will have 5 episodes and showcase the designing duo working with different families to help them renovate their homes and improve their lives.

Jessica and Lizzy have vowed to make other families' lives easier by using their flare for design. Giving a unique touch to each home, Lizzy says in the trailer, "we will come in giving things that you don't even know you need." The official synopsis of the show reads:

"Best friends Jessica Alba and Lizzy Mathis are helping families renovate their homes to make them more functional for their everyday needs. Because when your home works better, so does your family!"

Honest Renovations season 2: What to expect?

Roku released the trailer for the renovating show's second season on August 7, 2024, and it gives a glimpse of what fans can expect from the upcoming season. The trailer starts with Jessica and Lizzy talking about their friendship and how they grew close because of their love for design.

Honest Renovations season 2 trailer then shows different families, their stories, and the problems they are facing with their current living situations.

First, we are introduced to a mother and her daughter. The mother gets emotional while talking about her house, specifically a particular room. The room is filled with her dad's belongings she has been holding onto. These things are important to her but she knows that it's best that she clears them out, and makes room for her and her daughter.

Jessica and Lizzy are not able to hold back their tears as they are listening to her story. They promise the mother to help her with her situation and the three close their conversation with a hug.

Fans are then taken into Jessica and Lizzy's working space where the duo plan out their design. They have different samples of wallpapers, tiles, and home decorations placed on their pinboards as they decide on a perfect combination for the house.

After the planning phase, the duo takes fans through the demo day, where they get to tear everything down. They hammer down walls, drill out tiles, and clear things that are not needed in order to make room for new stories.

Jessica and Lizzy then talk to a couple and they let the renovation duo know that the water eases her pain and she takes a lot of baths. Keeping this in mind the duo try their best and surprise the couple with a newly improved bathroom and house.

Honest Renovations trailer ends with a scene of Lizzy hitting her trolley into a wall and Jessica laughing it off, showing that they are also here to have some fun.

Through Honest Renovations, Jessica and Lizzy don't just renovate the houses but also aim to transform the families as well. They understand where the families are coming from, what they want, and how they can make their daily lives a bit easier, and only then the duo go forward with their planning.

In an exclusive with Variety on April 22, 2024, Alba and Mathis reflected on their journey so far and said:

“Over the past two seasons, we have had the honor of meeting so many special families who welcomed us into their homes and trusted us to transform their spaces.”

Being parents themselves, they know the importance of a home and how it can affect a person and their loved one's life, as all of them share one common place. Jessica Alba is seen saying in the trailer:

"Raising a family is already hard enough and your house shouldn't make it even harder."
