“I don’t even know how I felt. I honestly blacked out."
Dancing With the Stars winner Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson
Joey Graziadei, the Dancing With the Stars season 33 winner, stated that he doesn’t clearly remember how he felt when his name was announced. In his interview with US Weekly, he shared that his most vivid memory was his dance partner, Jenna Johnson, screaming and hugging him in celebration.
Graziadei added that he remembers the season 32 winner and Johnson's husband Val Chmerkovskiy handing them the trophy.
“I remember Val [Chmerkovskiy] coming in. I remember this [trophy] was heavier than I thought it was going to be and that was about it. That’s where we’re at now. And now we’re here,” the Dancing With the Stars winner said.
Johnson chimed in and said that it was her privilege to receive the trophy from her husband. She said she felt "sheer love and joy" and called it one of the special moments of her life.
“So many people told me that they have videos of him freaking out and I can’t wait to see them. He’s been my number one supporter through this. He’s been mommy and daddy for us right now while I’ve been getting ready for this finale. So I’m just so grateful for him,” Johnson added.
The Dancing With the Stars pro dancer further shared that her season 33 Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy will be placed right next to her husband's season 32 trophy.
Graziadei added that he and his fiancée, Kelsey Anderson, recently "got a new apartment" in Los Angeles, and his Dancing With the Stars trophy would serve as their "first little centerpiece" in their new home.
Joey Graziadei will be taking a short break from reality TV
In an interview with Good Morning America on November 27, Graziadei said that he and his partner "put in so much work" in the show, and winning it "meant the world" to them.
The DWTS season 33 contestant further shared that now that he is done with The Bachelor and the dancing show, he is planning "to take a break from reality TV for a little bit."
"They're both amazing [shows]. I obviously got an amazing fiancee and now have a Mirrorball, so it was a great year for me," he added.
Talking about her bond with Graziadei, Johnson shared that they "got along right from the start." She added that her partner was a hard worker, and it was like a "Cinderella story" for him to go from having no dancing experience to winning the show.
"He [Graziadei] just is such a hard worker," she said about her partner. "I think he had that Cinderella story of having no dance experience and really taking on each week and becoming a dancer. So, I really had the time of my life this season with Joey," she said.
