90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort season 2 premiered on December 2 on TLC, featuring six couples facing various issues. They were invited to spend three weeks at a desert oasis in Arizona, working on their relationships through therapy. One couple, Ariela and Biniyam, joined the show to address trust and infidelity problems, aiming to improve their relationship for the sake of their son, Avi.
In episode 2, Ariela shared that she was Biniyam's social manager, and when she found out about his alleged infidelity she changed his passwords.
"I've been his manager for his career as a performer. But then I found out that he was cheating on me and I changed all his passwords. I was just angry with him and it was I was sort of getting back at him. Maybe it was a little vindictive but I don't regret it because I was so pissed off and so upset," she said in her confessional.
90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort couple Ariela and Biniyam try therapy to find common ground in their relationship
In 90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort season 2 episode 2, Ariela and Biniyam sat down in front of licensed professional counsel, Heidi Clapham to talk things through around their relationship.
During the session, Biniyam expressed that he was feeling "stressed" about the situation. He added that getting his password back would be the first set to make progress in his relationship with Ariela.
"Yesterday just, I'm feel like, just stressed for situation. But for, for now, just ... The main thing is I need my rights, like, open. I want my social media. That's the beginning for, for me, like, first step, for next continue," he said.
He further added that he felt like he couldn't do anything. He believed that Ariela was blackmailing him by having power over his social media account and using it to control him according to her. He wanted his partner to build trust around him and give his accounts back.
Ariela expressed doubt about trusting Biniyam after he allegedly cheated on her. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to work things out and had left him for a month due to being mentally exhausted from their ongoing issues. While the four-month break helped her feel better, she admitted it didn’t improve her relationship with Biniyam.
Clapham pointed out that both of the 90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort contestants said that they wanted to work on their marriage. However, their actions and the way they talked with each other implied the opposite.
The counselor noted that while Biniyam expressed a desire to regain access to his social media passwords, he failed to convey a genuine desire to reconcile with his wife. She advised the couple that repairing their relationship would require them to "put in the work" and engage in open, honest communication.
Clapham told the pair to put the social media issue aside and focus on building their trust. She suggested a hiking activity that would help their connection.
"Ari and Bini created a lot of problems in their communication styles and I think they go to the fight routines. So today, this exercise should give them tools to help them better communicate with each other in a different way than they're used to," Clapham shared.
