Big Brother 26 is set to release on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, exclusively on CBS. The new season will introduce viewers to the 16 new house guests who will compete for the grand prize and the winner's title.

In this competition series, the contestants reside in the BB house as housemates for a limited time period. Throughout the show, the cast members have to complete team challenges and individual tasks. By the end of every week, the public votes decide which one of the contestants will be eliminated.

Away from their family and friends, all housemates are watched by cameras. The synopsis for Big Brother 26 reads:

"Big Brother follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 94 HD cameras and 113 microphones, recording their every move 24/7."

Big Brother 26 will follow a similar format to previous seasons

Following a similar format to the previous seasons, Big Brother 26 will focus on housemates completing weekly tasks as a team to budget their grocery items. Contestants are divided into teams, and if the teams lose a challenge, their budget money gets deducted.

The household is determined each week. Houseguests also have the power to evict or banish someone, but the major decision is left in the hands of viewers. The public votes decide whose journey on the show ends.

This season consists of a Head of Household room, a "futuristic bedroom for the year 2500" which can be used by five housemates. According to the Paramount Press release posted on July 15, 2024, the upcoming episodes will feature an AI technology that will change the dynamics in the house.

It further describes the new season as full of "jaw-dropping surprises." It mentions:

"This season’s Houseguests include a celebrity chef, a former undercover cop, an event bartender, a former marine, a physical therapist and a crochet business owner, among others. This new group of Houseguests will experience an unforgettable summer with jaw-dropping surprises as “BB AI” takes over the BIG BROTHER house."

Executive Producers of Big Brother 26 Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan also teased that there will be new elements in the show. Fans predict unexpected challenges and new rules will be introduced, which will be revealed during the two-part premiere set to air on July 17 and July 18 respectively at 9 pm ET exclusively on CBS. Allison and Rich said:

“From summer camp, to tech, to the multiverse, BIG BROTHER loves to put a twist on topical and pop culture themes. This summer’s ‘BB AI’ theme promises to bring the fun, the comedy and the unexpected game play that is a hallmark of BIG BROTHER.”

Hosted by Julie Chen Moonves, the newly released episodes will be available to stream on Paramount Plus as well as Pluto TV. Fans can log into the website and also catch up with the episodes they might have missed.

After the premiere episode is released, Big Brother 26 will air every week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 pm ET/PT to 10 ET/ PT.
