The Later Daters season 1 released episode 4 on November 29, 2024. In this segment, the show host and dating coach expert, Logan Ury, visited Anise and her daughter, Dwayna, at a restaurant. They talked about Anise’s recent date with Bill and her efforts to open up emotionally.

During their discussion, Anise shared her experiences of losing the person she believed was the love of her life and raising two children as a single mother.

"I was so afraid of failing, I didn’t have room to be soft. I had to be strong," she said, as she reflected on the challenges she had overcome.

Logan encouraged Anise to embrace her feelings and let others see her true self. Dwayna expressed surprise that her mother needed encouragement to recognize her own needs, as she had never seen that side of her.

During their meeting in The Later Daters, Anise spoke about her past and the emotional strength she had to maintain over the past years. Reflecting on her partner's unexpected passing that left her raising two children on her own, she shared:

"I thought I was marrying the love of my life, but he was gone."

Anise described the challenges of single parenthood as "one of the most difficult things" she had ever done. But she continued saying that there was something in her that felt like she would commit and persevere, thinking that she would win for her children's sake.

In a confessional, Logan noted:

"The story in Anise’s head is that she has to be strong. So maybe at the end of this, it’s about Anise really letting people in."

Anise's daughter Dwayna supported this perspective, expressing surprise that Logan needed to remind her mother of what she deserved, as she always saw Anise as someone who did that on her own.

Anise further said that her children had a tendency to look at her the same way they saw her at the home, .but they realized that she had become a different person now. Dwayne acknowleged this and said that might be the case and she honored her mother's journey.

Anise reflected on her date with Bill in The Later Daters

Anise discussed her date with Bill in episode 4 of The Later Daters, sharing that she found him engaging. She praised the evening, saying, “Conversation was easy-flowing; he was open,” and revealed that they connected over shared interests like traveling.

However, she admitted to Bill that she had never been in a serious interracial relationship, despite previous experiences of interracial interest. On the date itself, Anise brought up this topic, asking Bill about his thoughts on going on a blind date with a Black woman.

In response, Bill shared that he exclusively dated Black women and also mentioned his biracial children. He added that he believed Black women had a higher level of energy and passion.

Bill had mixed feelings about their date. In a confessional, he said:

“In a lot of areas, we align completely, in terms of passion and energy for life. But the fact that Anise hasn’t dated interracially, that’s a red flag for me.”

While Anise complimented Bill on his accent and expressed how much she enjoyed the evening, saying, “I had a wonderful time.” Bill felt there was no romantic spark, ultimately concluding that their connection fell short of his expectations.
