Outlast returned with its season 2 and placed 16 contestants to survive the Alaskan wilderness. They had only one rule to follow, and that was to be part of a team. As long as they were in a team, they were allowed to do anything to win the game.
The contestants were divided into four teams; Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta. Julio was part of the Charlie camp and chose three members for his team. He teamed up with Joey, Bri, and Megan, but their team was the first to get out of the game.
After the finale episode, Julio posted a message on Instagram where he talked about his experience on the show and applauded his fellow cast mates. He wrote:
"I respect them all and I applaud them."
Outlast star Julio posts about his experience
Outlast season 2 cast member Julio uploaded an Instagram post on September 11, and in the caption, he wrote about his expectations and shared his experience. He shared that he wanted a dramatic and cinematic outcome for his journey on the show.
Julio wanted an "epic Hollywood result or iconic moment" that could 'elevate' his character. He hoped for an underdog scenario where, despite being an "older guy" and "city slicker", he could Oulast everyone and come out victorious. Julio wrote:
"I wanted to be able to have an epic Hollywood result or iconic moment. I wanted to have that fantasy come true where the older guy and city slicker emerges on the top of the hill."
Despite not winning the show, Julio wrote that he was grateful for his experience on the show. He acknowledged that he learned a lot about himself and different things such as "building dirt time, resilience, and grit" in the Alaskan wilderness.
While he learned a lot of things from his journey on the show, Julio recognized that most of his fellow Outlast cast mates were better than him at the game and he respects them for that.
"I am so grateful for the experience and for learning about myself and building dirt time, resilience, and grit. But a huge part of the truth is simply that most of the people there at that time were indeed better than me," Julio wrote.
Julio further wrote that while he had numerous victories and memorable moments throughout his life, winning the show wasn't something that was meant for him. He accepted his loss and said that it had motivated him to learn and do better in his life.
He concluded his message with a positive note and congratulated all the contestants who made it to the end. Julio said that he was inspired by team Bravo, who won the competition.
I’ve had many victories and moments during my lifetime, it just wasn’t in the cards for me this time. However, it only motivates me more! And I will continue to learn and get better. Congratulations to everyone who made it to the end. So inspiring. Bravo! 👏
Team Charlie on Outlast season 2
Julio was part of the Charlie camp besides Joey, Bri, and Megan. They had a positive attitude at the start, but things quickly went downhill for them. Bri left the group and teamed up with Bravo. She thought that it would be better for her game if she joined some other team.
Julio and Megan decided to quit the show due to their medical conditions. Julio had experienced intense spasms, and Megan's previous injury was hurting her. With only one member left team Charlie was over and Joey had to join Delta to continue in the show.
All episodes of Outlast season 2 are available to watch on Netflix.
