Season 40 of The Challenge premiered on August 14 at 8 pm ET/PT on MTV and Paramount, featuring contestants from past seasons competing in a group of four called 'Eras', in hopes of winning the prize money of $1 million by the end of it.
The synopsis of the show reads:
“The path to glory is far from easy, as they must first compete at the Era Invitational and eliminate the weakest links from within their own Challenge Era, for only the best will earn a coveted spot on their team. With relentless, new challenges and twists, these seasoned Veterans are perpetually kept on their toes in the game they thought they had mastered."
Former WWE Champion The Miz has appeared on The Challenge five times as a contestant, winning it twice, and has hosted multiple reunion shows, including Champs vs. Stars.
The Miz recently made an appearance at FanaticsFest NYC, where he was asked about the potential of appearing in another season of The Challenge and his thoughts on the current season where contestants from different eras have come together to compete.
"Would I ever do it again? I don’t have six weeks. Six weeks to do a show is a long long time. I’ll tell you what, if there was a show that I would want to do, man, I could beat them all. There would be no doubt in my mind that we would crush every other era that has ever been done in Challenge history. There is no one that can compete. Myself and CT on the same team, you’re not defeating us. I don’t care if you’re (Johnny) Bananas,” chimed in The Miz.
The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras is hosted by TJ Lavin, who introduced various twists in the latest season to the competitors.
Before the start of the season, MTV released a special titled The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras: Countdown Begins on August 7, which gave fans of the reality show a sneak peek into the latest season.
