The Golden Bachelorette episode 8, titled The Men Tell All, premiered on November 6 on ABC. All the eliminated cast members returned before the finale episode to reflect on their journey on the show and their connection with Joan Vassos.
Mark Anderson was one of the men vying for The Golden Bachelorette’s heart but was eliminated before the hometown dates. Having failed to find love in the reality show, Mark hasn't ruled out the possibility of trying again and becoming the next Golden Bachelor.
In his interview with The Wrap, after the The Men Tell All episode, Mark mentioned the possibility of appearing on the Golden Bachelor and said that he would "definitely consider it" if he got the opportunity.
“I’d definitely consider it, it’s been a fantastic experience for me. My daughter, Kelsey [and] Joey — they would have never met each other … it’s something to think about — I’m not an instant no person,” Mark said.
The Golden Bachelorette’s Mark Anderson reflects on his journey through the show
Mark Anderson’s participation in The Golden Bachelorette was highly anticipated, especially since he is the father of Kelsey Anderson, who got engaged to Joey Graziadei from The Bachelor season 28. With all the hype surrounding his appearance, many fans were confident that Mark would make it past the hometown week.
While Mark felt a strong connection with Joan, she had a different perspective. During their one-on-one date before hometown week, The Golden Bachelorette realized their bond wasn’t strong enough to take it to the next level and meet his family. As a result, Mark left the show before the rose ceremony at the end of that episode.
Mark commented on his elimination in his interview with The Wrap and expressed that he was very thankful for how Joan sent him home.
“I was very thankful for the way that she sent me home. I understood what she was saying, fully took it in, fully processed, and said ‘I could have done better, right? I could have expressed some more stuff,’ but I was good with it,” Mark added.
The Golden Bachelorette contestant reunited with Joan on The Men Tell All episode. Reacting to the reunion, Mark said that he just wanted to thank Joan again for the journey they shared and stated that "it was fantastic." He said:
"When I left, I had just a wonderful opportunity that she sat down and talked with me and explained, which it could have been just a rose ceremony and time for me to go … tonight, [I wanted] just to tell her thank you again for the journey. It was fantastic."
While Mark initially felt he could have done better to strengthen his connection with Joan, he had a different perspective after the show. He explained that time was a major factor as the contestants only had a "couple minutes" to make an impression with The Golden Bachelorette.
He added that if he had 'done it differently,' he wasn't sure if he would have stayed true to himself. He described his approach as 'a little bit slower,' noting that it wasn’t his natural way of connecting.
During the interview, Mark was asked what Joan had taught him from the experience, and he responded:
"The way that we interacted, when she sat down to see me — when we talked to each other, there were a mansion from the man, but as her and I were talking … the communication was just right — it took away worries, any doubt that I had that, is she really hearing what I’m saying?"
The Golden Bachelorette episodes air every Wednesday on ABC.
