Love is Blind Mexico dropped two new episodes (9-10) this week on Thursday, August 15, 2024. During the segment, the final phase of the social experiment continued during which, the cast members made up their minds about whether they wanted to marry their partners or move on.
In Episode 9, Karen and Fernando continued to be at odds after the female cast member was unhappy about her fiancé not telling her about a conversation. However, Fernando described it as not a big issue as he only responded to the ex-girlfriend as he believed it was an emergency.
Karen grew more frustrated with her partner and expressed wanting to smoke a cigarette and then the conversation soon revolved around Karen's smoking habits.
"You're setting conditions for you staying or for you deciding not to marry me. It was also very aggressive. I don't want that," Karen told Fernando.
Although the two argued about Karen's smoking, causing the cast member to rethink her relationship, they eventually made up.
What happened between Karen and Fernando in Love is Blind Mexico Episode 5?
In Love is Blind Mexico Episode 5, Fernando told the cameras that he and his ex-girlfriend parted ways on good terms. When he received a call from her, he responded thinking it may have been an emergency.
When Karen enquired about the call, the Love is Blind Mexico star said he had nothing to share with her. Karen asked if she and the Netflix star were "good" and asked him if they were still getting married.
Unhappy about Fernando's conversation with his ex-girlfriend, Karen voiced her opinions in a confessional.
"When you start a relationship, you cut ties with your exes. If it didn't matter, why would he tell me?"
The cast member asked Fernando if he thought it was okay to tell her that he was talking to his ex-girlfriend. She asked whether he thought that Karen wouldn't be affected by it. She revealed in a confessional that she didn't tell him who messaged her because it was not important since she had "cut ties with them."
She asked Fernando if he was getting back together with his former partner, and he said "No." The male cast member chimed in about the situation while talking to the cameras and said that he knew situations such as this caused Karen anxiety, and that she dealt with it by smoking.
As the two argued, Karen told him that she was anxious but he wasn't letting her smoke. He told her she always left in the middle of a conversation and didn't know how to communicate difficult feelings.
"It's a relationship. There will be stressful situations. And using that as a reason to smoke isn't healthy," Fernando added.
Karen asked him what would happen if she couldn't quit and Fernando said he couldn't be with her. The female Love is Blind Mexico star said she didn't know if he brought up her smoking habit because of his ex, but she didn't want to be with someone who told her what to do.
She asked Fernando if he meant that he wouldn't marry her if she didn't quit smoking. The male Love is Blind Mexico star clarified he didn't mean that but that he wanted to know if she would ever try to quit.
"I'm wondering whether I can quit and all that, but what bothers me is how aggressively you said it and that you're setting your own conditions," Karen said.
Fernando explained that he was not being aggressive and the Love is Blind Mexico star said she wouldn't have done what he did. She added that she would have been understanding and would have tried to find a solution together.
Chiming in on his behavior, Karen said that it "blew" her mind and made her "rethink" her future with the participant.
Episodes of Love is Blind Mexico are available to stream on Netflix.
