Netflix released the much anticipated season 8 of the popular reality show Selling Sunset on September 6, consisting of 11 episodes. The real estate brokers of Oppenheim Group went through a lot of drama as they tried to manage their personal lives with their professional endeavors.
Things seemed to be amicable between Bre and her ex-husband and former NFL player, Johnny Manziel. She helped him find a listing that he could buy in episode 6 of Selling Sunset. As the two were exploring the property, they started talking about their past and the first time they met. Johnny revealed that he was the one who invited Bre out to LA and bought the plane tickets so the pair could go on a date.
Moreover, Bre recalled that after reaching the airport, she had contacted Johnny and expressed that she wasn't interested in a date if he didn't pick her up. She did so because she didn't wish to opt for a cab service. In the episode, Johnny admitted that he didn't know Bre that well at that moment, and made the mistake of not picking her up. While narrating their first meeting, Johnny mentioned:
"At that point, after knowing you 24 hours, I dropped the ball on that."
For the unversed, the couple tied the knot in 2018 as a close source told TMZ. However, they parted ways three years later as she posted photos of her divorce party on Instagram on November 24, 2021. She wished her ex-husband "nothing but the best" as she wrote in the caption:
I do, I did, I’m officially done🤪Thanks to all my girls for the craziest divorce party. No shade to J, wish you nothing but the best, love ya
Selling Sunset season 8: Johnny Manziel says he's proud of Bre for standing on her feet after their divorce
The pair went back and forth on Selling Sunset with their quips as they recalled memories from the past. Johnny praised Bre for achieving her lifelong dream of becoming a broker and standing on her own two feet after their divorce in 2021. He stated that life is unpredictable and it is hard to control what journey one embarks upon.
"You are in a position now where you got exactly what you wanted in life. And I'm proud of you for that. And I'm happy for you in that," Johnny added.
Later in the Selling Sunset episode, Johnny explained that during the time of their marriage, he was depressed and led a life of partying and drinking at nightclubs. He went on to acknowledge his infidelity while they were married and apologized to Bre about it. The divorce turned out to be the hardest point in the ex-NFL's life as he stated that he "cried, begged and pleaded" in order to get Bre back in his life.
In a confessional of the latest season, Bre expressed her gratitude towards Johnny for being present in her life at the time. She also praised his growth as a person for acknowledging his infidelity issue and recognizing her career achievements as well. Bre called Johnny 'Peter Pan' as she felt "he didn't want to grow up", so she would let him "stay in his little fairy tale land".
"I'm happy to hear that J can recognize the hell that he put me through. And that tells me at least the effort I put in is recognized. And it's not all completely in vain," stated Bre.
All 11 episodes of Selling Sunset season 8 are available for streaming on Netflix.
