Perfect Match season 2 fame Harry Jowsey recently opened up about his relationship with co-participant, Jessica. In his podcast titled Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey uploaded on June 18, 2024, he shared his thoughts on what went wrong and what could have been done to improve his relationship with her.
"At 26, I was so excited for love, that's all I wanted. I wanted a little kid, I wanted a beautiful wife, I wanted a little pony, and I wanted a chicken and a dog and a beehive," Harry stated.
Perfect Match season 2 is currently streaming episodes 1-9 on Netflix. The much-awaited finale is set to premiere on June 21, where fans expect answers to some unresolved questions and witness the crowning of the winners. Episode 9 ended with Jessica contemplating whether to match with Harry or not, while the latter tried to negotiate another chance for himself.
"It wasn't the most appropriate" — Harry Jowsey looks back at his demeanor in Perfect Match season 2
In the latest episode of his podcast, Harry reminisced about his journey in Perfect Match season 2, stating he was "excited for love" and didn't think his actions through. As a result, he claimed that he misled his then-partner, Jessica, and hurt her feelings.
"It wasn't the most appropriate, it wasn't the best timing, it wasn't funny," Harry added.
Overburdened by the consensus on his dating history, Harry felt it was important to convince Jessica that he had no intentions of betraying her. Consequently, he left hand-written notes for her around the villa, containing his genuine confessions. His letters earned Jessica's approval, and their relationship started to "blossom" from thereon. However, he revealed in the podcast that his other "lovey-dovey" gestures were not aired.
Recalling the time on the show when he told Jessica he loved her, Harry shared that although it was hard not to fall in love with her, he confessed his feelings without much thought.
"I am a self-proclaimed, Olympic level love-bomber," Harry mentioned.
Harry Jowsey joined the cast of Perfect Match season 2 as a 26-year-old and said he would have conducted himself differently if he had come on the show a year later. He admitted that he expressed his emotions and acted affectionately in a manipulative manner to get on Jessica's side. However, he claimed he would have restrained himself from doing the same in the real world since it was "inappropriate."
Complimenting Jessica's personality and the ability to use "big words," Harry praised the level of maturity she displayed on the show. However, he stated that he often acted out of line to be in "character", since it was a reality show at the end of the day, and viewers expected to see drama.
"I f*cked up. I f*cked up entirely," Harry Jowsey confessed.
Harry further noted that he was under the impression that the boys in the show were rewarded for being loyal to their matches by being sent to the cenote with the other girls in episode 8. He added that he misunderstood the cause.
He also stated that he could have been mindful of his actions and their repercussions on Jessica. For the unversed, Harry was accused of kissing Melinda while carrying her in his arms. Although he refuted the allegations, Jessica appeared unconvinced. He was intoxicated before the episode was filmed, and blamed the alcohol consumption for his actions.
Harry Jowsey claimed that at one point he forgot he was on a show and got indulged in his feelings for Jessica. But he ended up hurting her after he appointed the "TV-work-Harry brain" to make decisions for him.
"I was so flirty, I was so free, just having fun, and I forgot the fact that there's someone [Jessica] that cares about me and that someone is counting on me to be a good human," Harry Jowsey explained.
Harry concluded by saying that he respected and applauded Jessica for who she was on the show. While he assumed his feelings for her were real, he regretted misleading her with his actions. He revealed that they maintained a good relationship outside the house as they did inside.
Perfect Match season 2 finale is set to release on June 21 only on Netflix.
