Love is Blind: Mexico released its reunion episode on Netflix on Sunday, August 18, 2024. As the series concluded, several cast members recalled their time on the show, analyzing their actions and decisions. While some felt proud of how they portrayed themselves on screen, others regretted their impulsive behavior.
One such cast member was Saul. He was engaged to Leti but their relationship failed to survive the test of time. Their perspectives on physical intimacy appeared to be one of the prime reasons they drifted apart. Unable to bear the tension any further, Leti broke up with Saul in episode 5.
At the Love is Blind: Mexico reunion, Saul apologized to Leti, seeking forgiveness for not respecting her feelings.
"I think that as a man, as an adult, and as a father, I failed everyone. My nerves got the best of my emotions, my reaction," said Saul.
Leti confessed she felt disrespected and blindsided by Saul's behavior especially after they headed to Tulum for their honeymoon. The Love is Blind: Mexico cast member stated she struggled to deal with bold and loud emotions because of her ADHD. She expected Saul to understand that but was disappointed when he felt dissatisfied with her.
Love is Blind: Mexico star Saul reveals he failed to create a "safe place" for Leti
When Leti introduced herself at the show's start she revealed she was diagnosed with ADHD. It often became a hindrance to her romantic relationships. She struggled to concentrate on other people's words which created misunderstandings, prompting others to blame her for being inattentive.
"Neurodivergence means you have a unique way of relating to people, and it's not always the easiest for other people to understand," said Leti.
Leti confessed she often felt overwhelmed by the number of things they discussed during the dates. She conveyed the message to Saul, who promised to understand and respect her views. However, when the Love is Blind: Mexico star passionately kissed Leti on their first encounter, it made the latter uncomfortable. At the reunion, he admitted that was when he made his first mistake.
He apologized to Leti, his daughter, and the audience for his behavior. He added:
"But I want you to know that my intention was to find a safe place of respect, filled with love and I couldn't deliver, so I take that responsibility. And I ask your honest forgiveness."
He thanked her for being by his side and loving him despite everything. He regretted ruining what they had and pleaded for Leti's forgiveness. Leti appreciated Saul's gesture and accepted his apology.
The Love is Blind: Mexico star confessed she needed to set boundaries "even before the booths, "before the reveal." However, she claimed "those boundaries" were not respected. As she progressed in the show with Saul, "they got more and more broken."
"And for me, it got harder to be in love when my boundaries weren't being respected," stated Leti.
She revealed she felt "invalidated" when Saul discussed their private life with Gerardo. He complained to Gerardo that Leti was not "very open to anything s*xual." He also stated she mentioned his daughter's name to provoke him. However, when Leti recalled the incident at the reunion, she revealed that he misunderstood her intentions.
"When I mentioned your daughter, it was because I wanted it to stop. But you acted like it was something I started which isn't true. It was our first night together," said Leti.
The Love is Blind: Mexico cast member got emotional thinking about how she felt during those moments. Where she expected Saul to respect her boundaries, he went and had "jealous tantrums," comparing his private life to the others.
It made her feel "responsible for absolutely everything that went wrong." She felt hurt when he called her "difficult" despite knowing her limitations. Saul apologized yet again for disrespecting her.
"I couldn't control myself in that rush. I was wrong. Both physically and verbally. Again, I'm sorry and I take full responsibility. I never wanted to disrespect you. I only wanted to create a space of love and respect and I failed," said Saul.
