“I felt quite isolated”- Love is Blind UK star Demi recalls filming the reunion special

Love Is Blind UK has announced its season two, with a successful follow-up of season one. The Netflix reality TV show allows the cast members to discover each other via pods, get engaged, and meet families and friends afterward, finally leading to marriage. This season, 3 couples got married on the show.

Love Is Blind UK recently launched the Reunion episode on August 26, 2024. All the 6 couples who got engaged joined the hosts, Matt and Emma Willis, and relived their experience about the experiment, and shared where they are now as far as their love lives are concerned.

Demi Santana, who got engaged to Ollie Sutherland on the show, Love Is Blind UK, had even walked down the altar. However, they did not get married in the end. Demi said 'no' at the altar, and said she did not feel ready.

Recently, Demi went on a podcast hosted by Will Njobvu on August 27, 2024, and recalled that she felt lonely when she met the cast of Love Is Blind UK.

She told Will:

"The event I went to the other day, I felt quite isolated and I had to pinch myself for a second because I was like, ‘This ain’t actually my reality, my friends are at home"".

Demi Santana from Love Is Blind UK shared her experience of attending the filming of the Reunion episode.

Demi attended the reunion of Love Is Blind UK that was filmed and aired after a year of filming the finale of the show. The dynamics between the cast members, as well as between the couples have changed since the finale. All 6 couples along with some other cast members joined the hosts for this episode.

The tea was spilled, some revelations were unfolded, and cast members shared their experiences on and after the show.

Demi, who had a very close friendship with Jasmine on the show, revealed during the podcast with Will, that their friendship is in the 'gray area' now. She explained to the host of the podcast, that Jasmine is friends with Sharlotte, who is Ollie's new connection, and therefore they are not tight anymore.

She said during the podcast:

"I'm not trying to take away from the friendship that I and Jasmine had because I genuinely love the friendship that we built and I want nothing but the best for her."

She further added:

"I think what's happening in my past with past friendships is there's been a lot of betrayal and deceit and I hate the feeling of being isolated um and I hate when I reach out to people and I'm not getting the communication I need in that moment yeah so uh yeah there's been a bit of a pullback."

Demi also opened up about her dynamics with Ollie and Sharlotte. She told Will that Ollie and she are no longer friends but there is no bad blood between them. She and Sharlotte talked earlier, and Sharlotte gave her clarity about her dating history with Oliie. Demi told the host, Will that she respected the fact that Sharlotte took the initiative to inform her. She added:

"It's nice to, like, know what is gone on even though she doesn't owe it to me and it shows a lot on people's characters cuz Charlotte done that to me and not Ollie."

In the Reunion episode, when the host of Love Is Blind UK, Emma Willis, asked Demi about Ollie and Sharlotte, she gracefully said she loves Sharlotte, and Ollie is not her guy, and therefore it is fine by her. However, during the podcast with Will, Demi disclosed that she had left the cast chat group and is on good terms with Nicole and Elle from the show.

Demi did not name anybody else specifically, citing the fact that Ollie and Jasmine are no more on her list of friends.
