Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 showcased the challenges the crew faced during their first charter. Since then, there have been problems, including the lack of proper management and communication. In episode 14, it was revealed that a new crew member was joining the yacht, which was good news for Aesha Scott.

Aesha was already impressed by Carrie's extensive background and looked forward to working with her. On the other hand, Ellie felt Carrie was trying to "supervise" others even when it wasn't her job. Additionally, Ellie thought her position was being threatened, and Carrie was trying to take over her responsibilities.

During the Below Deck Mediterranean aftershow, Chef Jono commented on the situation, revealing what Ellie had told him about Carrie. Jono told the cameras that, according to Ellie, Carrie was trying to be a chief stew, something Ellie had already been working towards achieving.

"Ellie said that she was never a chief stew, she was a sole stew pretending to be a chief or something. I don't know. I heard all this drama," he shared.

Below Deck Mediterranean, season 9, episode 14, titled New Kid on the Dock, aired on Bravo TV on September 2, 2024. The episode synopsis reads as follows:

"The arrival of a new stew sets the stage for mixed reactions among the crew; a deckhand is blindsided by bad news from home; Aesha's frustration peaks when she discovers the laundry room is still in chaos."

Below Deck Mediterranean chef Jono chimes in on the Ellie - Carrie drama

Previously, Ellie had mentioned she wanted to transition into the chief role and was willing to learn under Aesha Scott's guidance. With Carrie on board, things were completely different as she took over multiple tasks. Jono shared that Ellie felt Aesha was cornering her to accommodate Carrie.

"Ellie definitely confided in me that she felt like Aesha was pushing her to the curb because of the way Carrie kind of came in and was taking on other responsibilities."

The Below Deck Mediterranean star Ellie said she didn't want to start a beef, but Carrie's attitude was offensive. Ellie shared that Carrie had a "mocking tone" while talking to her and implied the newbie was arrogant about her prior experiences. Ellie wanted Carrie to complete the tasks according to what rank she had at the yacht

"There was an underlying mocking tone with Carrie that I sensed. That was her vibe. In my eyes, the floating position is basically a fourth stew position, so regardless of how much experience you have or what your rank is elsewhere, you've got to adapt to your rank in this environment," Ellie said.

Later, Carrie clarified that she didn't care what rank she was on. The new Below Deck Mediterranean cast member explained it wasn't something she wanted to hold onto.

"The whole rank thing, people sometimes really hold onto it. I mean, the whole second stew, third stew, fourth stew thing — I'm a bit like, 'Eh.' I'm more than happy to just be put anywhere," Carrie said.

Upcoming episodes will reveal whether Ellie and Carrie will see eye to eye and try to get on the same page. Stream Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 exclusively on Bravo TV every week on Mondays at 8/7c.
