Sophie Mills, a contestant on Love Island Australia season 6, recently addressed the connection between her ex-partner, Dylan, and her best friend, Mimi. Sophie and Dylan had been coupled up during the show but were dumped together in episode 28 that aired on December 12, 2024.

Following their departure, the pair confirmed their split, and Dylan revealed that he and Mimi were exploring the possibility of a romantic relationship. Speaking exclusively to 9Entertainment on December 13, Sophie shared how she became aware of the situation. She explained that post-show meetups with the cast in Sydney led her to notice a potential bond forming between Dylan and Mimi.

"It's not really my business to talk about but I just want them to be happy," she said.

While reflecting on the circumstances, Sophie expressed her neutral stance, saying:

"I'd never ask somebody to choose between friendship and love."

She clarified that both Dylan and Mimi had been transparent about their feelings, ensuring that no boundaries were crossed.

Love Island Australia star Sophie reflects on Dylan and Mimi’s growing connection

Sophie Mills said that her intuition led her to notice a connection between Dylan and Mimi during their post-show gatherings with the Love Island Australia cast. Sophie explained in her exit interview:

"Since we left the Villa, we'd all hang out. With lots of the cast in Sydney, I'd make regular trips there, and I just caught a little vibe of something going on between them."

After sensing this, Sophie addressed it openly with both Dylan and Mimi. She shared that they had sort of "laid things out on the table" for her. She added:

"It doesn't seem like they're officially dating, but they're open to the possibility of that."

Sophie described their approach as respectful and transparent. She admitted it was not easy for her to see her ex-partner and close friend potentially developing a relationship, but she maintained a neutral stance. Reflecting on her breakup with Dylan, Sophie shared her thoughts on compatibility.

"I was very upset about it when Dylan and I broke up, but we're clearly not meant to be, so he's not my person, but maybe he's Mimi's person."

Sophie clarified that her understanding would have been different if there had been secrecy or disrespect, but she felt that Dylan and Mimi handled the situation appropriately.

After her time on Love Island Australia ended, Sophie explained how she shifted her attention to self-reflection. Following her breakup with Dylan, she chose to take a step back from dating to evaluate her experiences and decisions.

"I definitely had to take a break from dating, and I've been working on myself and the mistakes I've made and things I need to learn from," she shared during her interview.

Sophie mentioned that her focus would be on understanding areas of personal development rather than entering a new relationship immediately. Reflecting on her outlook for the future, she stated:

"But when I'm ready, I just want to be loved."

Regarding Dylan and Mimi, Sophie reiterated that she had no resentment. Instead, she talked about her willingness to allow them space to explore their connection.
