Love Is Blind UK season 1 premiered on Netflix on August 7, 2024. The show features 30 singles who connect in pods without meeting face-to-face until they get engaged. The first four episodes are out, with participants exploring their connections. Sabrina, a 35-year-old marketing expert from Belfast, feels a strong connection with Steven, a 37-year-old cross-fit trainer, and is interested in exploring the journey with him.
Both appeared to share personal stories related to their families which also included Sabrina sharing about his father. She expressed that her father's identity was unknown to her until she was 28, and not having a father figure around made her guarded around other men as well.
"I think that's why I can sometimes be guarded with men, and I don't know how to let my guard down. I don't wanna get choked," she said.

Sabrina opens up about her father to Steven in Love Is Blind UK Season 1
In episode 1 of Love Is Blind UK, Sabrina and Steven went along very well. They extended their conversation from daily routines, their grandparents, children, and parents. The couple seemed to hit a roadblock when Steven asked Sabrina about her thoughts on having kids. Sabrina did not seem very eager to have kids, as she mentioned if she found anyone, her priority would be to focus on the husband-and-wife relationship.
The meeting ended with a long silence, but the couple seemed eager to talk about it and find a way. During their third meeting in episode 1 of Love Is Blind UK, Sabrina confessed:
"For me, it is really important to build a life as a husband and wife first. I am 35, so in my case, that would be 38,39. I might not be able to conceive naturally. I am very open to surrogacy, so, it would be our biological child or adoption."
Steven felt happy and told Sabrina that he could work around that scenario. They discussed that it is important to have difficult conversations because that is what makes you more prepared. He then asked Sabrina about her childhood.
Sabrina shared that her parents divorced when she was 13, and she had a difficult childhood without her father. She decided not to contact him unless he reached out first. At 28, she learned from her mother that her father wasn't her biological father; her real father is from Italy. Sabrina explained to Steven that not knowing her father's identity made her guarded and affected her relationships with men.
She said:
"It was obviously a lot for me to process. I was named after a person I'd never known and named after a person who wasn't actually my father and who didn't wanna know."
Steven patiently heard Sabrina express her feelings. The conversation ended with Stven being open about his past relationship. The couple agreed on the fact that they both felt aligned in many ways and being vulnerable with each other made their connection stronger.
