Love Island USA season 6 released its latest episode on Sunday, July 14. It showcased couples consolidating their relationships by announcing themselves as uninterested in exploring other options inside the Fijian villa. Kordell and Serena, who had previously closed off their relationship with each other, took a step further and discussed their plans for the future. They talked about meeting each other's parents and made plans to see each other.
"But once we leave from Fiji, it'll be in L.A. And I'll change my flight. Kick it with you for a little bit if you want me to," said Kordell.
The Love Island USA couple had a turbulent journey throughout the show. Paired since day one, they had a slower start compared to the others. While Kordell wanted to explore their relationship romantically, Serena hesitated to open up to him. Their relationship looked irreconcilable when Kordell returned from Casa Amor coupled with 'bombshell' Daia.
However, Kordell realized his fault and professed his feelings to Serena. He mended his relationship with her and broke up with Daia. The Love Island USA couple rekindled their relationship and in the latest episode, viewers of the Peacock show saw them discuss their potential future after the show ended.
Serena and Kordell talk about meeting each other's families after Love Island USA ends
In episode 30, Kordell admitted to Serena that he enjoyed talking about their future outside the show. He stated that it was important they sort out their plans since he wanted to be with her for a while after they left Fiji. Kordell hailed from Dallas, whereas Serena resided in L.A. Keeping that in mind, he appeared willing to change his flight so that he could be with his partner during their early days outside the villa.
"It's just good hearing that we able to talk about these type of things," said Kordell.
Serena informed him that her parents and her niece would be at the airport to receive her. Kordell expressed his eagerness to meet her parents but was also afraid of leaving a first bad impression.
"He gonna be in there like, 'yeah, you f**ked up, buddy,'" said Kordell.
The Love Island USA cast member feared that Serena's parents would slam him for betraying their daughter by being intimate with Daia. Previously, Serena was sent a video from Casa Amor, which displayed Kordell and Daia's intimate moments.
Already upset, she was unable to hold herself back from humiliating Kordell when he returned coupled up with the 'bombshell.' As a result, she broke up with him and refused to get back together.
However, Kordell explained that since their connection lacked the spark, he wanted to bring someone new to test his relationship with Serena. He pleaded with her for another chance and vowed to make it up to her. Serena granted him an opportunity, and the Love Island USA couple closed off their relationship. Kordell coupled with Serena in the next recoupling ceremony, leading to Daia's elimination.
Serena felt apprehensive about their relationship outside the show but had enough faith to believe that they could make it through the hard times.
"It is a little nerve-racking because things are going to be so different. Like, right now, we're in like a cute little bubble, and then the outside is a scary, scary place. But I think we'll be good," said Serena.
On the other hand, Kordell mentioned that he worried about his family's reaction upon meeting Serena. He warned Serena that they might tease her about their relationship. However, she appeared unfazed by the warning.
"I really feel like my sisters is going to f**k with you," said Kordell.
Despite the nerves, both the islanders eagerly awaited to meet each other's families and take their relationship to the next level.
Love Island USA airs new episodes Thursday to Tuesday at 9 pm ET only on Peacock.
